okay so i know its been asked.... who makes a quality

3" exhaust for us??? i can never get a hold of aam to even ask them about thiers and they were about 4 times now supposed to send me pics of it and everytime i never recieve them.... i see custom tubes but have never seen or heard of thier work before.
i AM either going to a twin setup or switching to turbo only here soon. depends on which gets done first the twin kit or my work on the turbo only setup.... so of course i have all the 2.5 " options out there but once approaching 400hp or so the 3" becomes more of a necc. item over the 2.5" hmmmmmm i wish i could get real answers here

talked with wes at sms about the thermal one he said they "tested both the 2.5 and the 3"
well i spoke to thermal today and he never had them make a 3" for him and they have not tested one either so either he or them is lying not sure...

and corsa told me the 2.5" is good for some crazy hp levels like 600 or so which i find really hard to believe. by the way i own a redline and come here due to a seemingly more knowledge base here..... now i own a shop and i also know if this was a turbo only car id have done 3" without question.. but many of the big names are throwing out they tested 3" exhausts and dont see any need even with 400hp???? just doesnt make sense to me period...

any input here......... and who the hell makes a real quality 3" stainless system ???

p.s my bender is out of commition for the time being and they want almost the same to fix it since its pretty old as is just doesnt seem worth it i could buy a new one... but money right now keeps me from doing that at the moment i have a crush bender but will not use it on my exhaust i want a mandrel system. thanks

hey zfactor, the altered atmosphere cat back I got was a nice unit. The welds are awesome on it but I am not a fan of the muffler they used. The unit also required me to weld a different hanger on the muffler as the stock cobalt ones are different. Everything else fit good. It took quite a while to recieve also though (about 3 weeks). For some input on the CTI exhausts head on over to the srtforums.

I went with the 3" because there are at least 2 verified dynos floating around showing a 10whp gain from it. I know 100% fact that I gained 2-3 mph trap speed and nocked at least .3 off my ET with it. I went to the track ALOT and I can confirm without a doubt it adds power.

my guess would be that all they have is a 2.5" to sell and thus are saying its the way to go.

the corsa 2.5 inch has been good up to 600 hp so unless yu plan on going with more than 600 hp then go corsa, ive never see any exhaust have this much quality and sound this good, i took my car to the dealer last night and they were all drooling over my exhaust ., said it was the best sounding one they heard

Yea it's been good to 600hp but what if they put on a 3" exhaust the car would make more power then what it does with the 2.5". Allthough the 2.5" isn't bottle necking it still works but does it giv ethe motor 100% prob not its prob holding back a few ponies in there.

And why does everyone talk about electronic cut outs. They have show to make big HP and guess what its straight through with no back pressure. So why would a 3" exhaust be bad?

Zfactor, in my opinion when in doubt look to the grand am cobalt. They aren't running a 3" exhaust because it makes less power.
