Chime/Radio Volume too lound after upgrading to GM USB radio

Hello, i have 09 TC that had stock GM radio without the USB option..
i decided to upgrade to the radio that has the USB because i was sick of using the aux etc...

anyways, swapped the radio then went to GM so it could be unlocked. when they did that
the volume of the radio aswell as the chime is soo loud!?

i know that there is an internal amplifier. my question - is there a way to control the volume or adjust the amp ?? i thought i would ask here before going back to GM and waiting for a week before they could schedule a appointment -_-

thanks for looking.

They programmed it wrong.

You needed them to program to the settings of a car like yours that had that piece as standard equipment.

i see, i found out on forums that there is a screw on the side of the radio that will allow for the adjustment of the volume, its either that or reprogramming it.. even though not recommended (because its bypassing the amp) i might give it a try see what it does.. will update when done

You have pioneer audio.
You dont need the internal amp turned on. They need to shut it off.
You need a VIN from a LNF that had USB from the factory to tell them to clone the settings.

Hey, I just did the same swap; bought the radio new from replacementradios via ebay. Every works, plug-n-play, didn't have to get it unlocked since it was new, but it's super loud like you explained.

Did you have the dealership reprogram?
Did you adjust the screw? (pot switch?) can you provide a link to that website (if the mods will allow it)

Thanks.
2009 SS/TC sedan, came with non-USB radio.

Oh, mine has the Pioneer speakers, too. I'm pretty sure that was standard with the SS.

Here's my update. I took it to my dealership to reprogram the new USB radio to turn off the internal amplifier, which they were able to do in less than an hour, BUT the profile they loaded turned OFF the USB! They tech said there wasn't a profile for my car with the radio's GM part #. There are a ton of different #s for these radios. Basically when programming, he only sees a list of part #s, but it doesn't show him options like "amp off; usb on" etc. So he called GM tech support to put it in their hands to come up with a custom profile, or to tell him which profile would work. Well, I took it back yesterday for him to load that good profile, and it brought the USB back, but now the internal amplifier is back on, and my chimes and audio volume are loud AF again! They're looking into it, and will call me when they have another profile to try.

Does anyone have a GM part number for the USB Radio from a 2009 Cobalt SS Sedan with Pioneer speakers?
That part # should tell them which profile to load to turn off amp, and turn on USB.
The non-usb that came with my car is GM PART NO. 25834575. The new one that I bought with USB is GM PART NO. 20789372.
Thanks!

My gm techs if that what they call themselves, they say that is not possible, that they do everything "legal" (cloning settings, stupids!). That only one radio part number works for the car, the OEM one... -.-
They can't turn off the amp, or change settings or anything.... 3 times on the same dealer different years lol
I need to find another gm dealer. Since them 5+ years with loud chime lol

Ever since installing the pioneer avhx491bhs, my blinker noise is loud!! It sounds like someone is knocking on a door under the dash whenever I use them... For a good week I couldn't figure out what the noise was... Clearly I rarely use my blinkers but happened to realize today, that's what the noise is. Can this be lowered in the indash controls?
