Upgraded systems what are you running?

The box leaks so i'm going to pull it and re-seal it, wood glue would be a better option according to Emp. I tried liquid nails and hot glue along with screws. I'm going to pull it and re seal the box and then I should be good. Also, what gauge speaker wire should I run to the subwoofer? The amp is pushing 500rms and I have 8 awg power and grounds (JL audio wiring). The mid-range amp is amazing tho.
So what size wiring should be ran to the sub? I think i have really small wiring to it right now so I just bought some 14 gauge to re-run when I go to redo the box.
how bad is it leaking... you may want to try going with liquid nails if your going to pull it apart to reseal. liquid nails doesnt adhere as good as wood glue but it fillis in any "cracks" per-say a hell of alot better. so after regluing put a bead around all the inside seams and it should be good
its leaking enough to where if my head is inside the box i can feel the air flow. i can put my hand up and feel air coming out of different places along the seems. it doesn't seem reallly bad but i think it could sound better if i sealed it properly. I bought some Gorilla Wood glue i'll use and then I thought i'd go back on the inside and silicone along the seems.
hey btw, is 14 gauge plenty big speaker wire to run from my amp to the sub or should i use a bigger gauge?
also, a friend is asking about adding an amp to his oem pioneer system or even changing the sub and getting a matching amp. I told him he would need to add RCA's and to do that he would probably need a line out converter right?
just jump off the rear 6x9's with a high to low line out converter and use that for RCA's until he can buy a good head unit.

Do you know the volume of that box? If it's ported what do you have the port tuned to?
I've got a Kenwood Excelon X1200M and a 12" Pioneer W300. I'm making the box so I can tuck it on the side kinda like the stock one(obviously bigger though). I was going to make a ported box about 0.9-1 ft^3, didn't think that would be TOO big.
Thats an awesome system though, im definitely cutting out a piece of fiber board for the amp/cap like you did!

if your referencing my setup above the box is smaller than what is shown from the front. the front piece is enlarged more than the box so i can cover more space and make it presentable. the box is 9.5 inches deep, 12 inches high and 11 inches wide. with the sub inserted, according the rockford fosgate box wizard it will have a cubic feet of 0.59 which is optimum for my sub in a sealed enclosure.
and just as a tip, when creating your back MDF piece that forms around the curves of the vehicle be sure to use cardboard to create the curve before you cut your MDF. I did that to ensure i got a relatively snug fit, any big gaps would look hideous.
good luck in your build tho, Emp here knows quite a lot more than most people on here so i'm sure he could point you in the right direction tho. use a box wizard to calculate the cubic feet that is optimum for your sub.

Found a video of my old setup on facebook lol!
DO YOU LIKE BASS? | Facebook
Not really displaying anything, but you get an idea of the sound pressure lol The mirror is stuck like that from the bass :\

Well I made the box and that was a complete disaster, don't think I'm going to spend the money on another sheet of fiber board to mount everything on after that failure lol
My family owns a battery company so I spent my day wiring everything up. Got a hookup on a bigger battery and super high quality 1 gauge for the power/ground. Fixed my amp(it was stuck in safe mode) and got the cap up and running.
Found a small box ported to the frequency I want and I think I'm just going to mount the cap/amp on it. Only thing is I'm afraid of interference, been considering putting a sheet of some rubber on the bottom of the amp/cap to fix that issue, don't know if that will actually help or not however. All the wires I'm using are super insulated so I think that will help, but some input on that idea would be awesome.
I'll post some pictures once I get everything up and running.

sound processors clear up interference. Rockford fosgate makes the 3SIXTY for 75$. for speakers that will help clear up the sound if you need it.
As for the box, as long as you cut it straight and seal it with wood glue/silicone/liquid nails. anything would have been ok because yours is ported anyway. i think the vented ones look sexier tho if you go the ported/vented route. everyone has different skill levels tho and it don't always go right the first time around.
anyways. hope you get it all setup the way you want man. sounds like your moving along nicely.

do you have interference now?
try grounding the amps to the battery and battery to the chassis underneath
also is the HU grounded to the amps or using the factory ground?

ok got a stupid question for you all . what are you doing to keep your rearview mirror from moving down . let me explain if that helps in normal volume mirror vibrates like normal but a hard hitting bass song it just moved down and when i look at it all it shows is the reflection on my cup holder . or im i the only one who has this issue
