not at the fact that you can take your car to that specific track... but hte fact htat you can drive around that country...
I've heard that renting cars over there is terribly expensive...
but am casually planning on a Deutschland trip some time soon...

Yea that's been out for a while but I still enjoy watching it. I'd like to see the record lap-it couldn't have been in the rain.
Here's the car that beat the TC's time (by 6 sec): Dailymotion - RENAULT MEGANE R26R Nürburgring - une vidéo Auto-Moto
Factory racer-plexiglass windows/rear seat delete etc and probably twice what I paid for the TC.

Renault basically made that race-modified car and produced a handful of them so it could be called "production" to beat out the SS/TC. I call BS though and still consider us as the true current record holder until something more legit beats us.
I bet all GM would have to maybe do is put their GMS1 tune on there and beat it again if they wanted to. It'd still be "Factory" since some later Cobalts came with it already installed. They wouldn't want to do that though at this point considering it's current production status. They've moved on to other things at this point and don't want to spotlight a car that they can't sell.

I believe the Renault was on an episode of Top Gear-maybe the new show will wring out a TC although it's probably too late for that.
An "lnf upgrade" car at the 'ring would be interesting indeed.

people say its cheap to get it but u drive at your own risk, theres a lotta wrecks, its like 20 bucks somebody said who is a car enthusiast so idk if he rght or not

These cars handle remarkably well. I was surprised to see that on a corner I take all the time at speed(its a on-ramp) I was a full 20mph faster than I could take it with my Caliber SRT-4 or Mustang GT. Only my Bilstein prepped Z28 could do that. Props GM for making a decent handling coupe and sedan that is basically an econobox.
