oil change!!!!
Well, I should start with-----the change I did in the summer was a disaster............they forgot to put the cap back on and 5 mins later down the street oil was allover the engine and under the hood!!!!!!!!! The dealer apologizes and gives me a new change, shampoo's the engine, replaces the cover under the hood and gives me a free oil change for the future.
The future.................waited 3 hours for them to do the oil change(because they know it's for free and I watched while another customer came in for just an oil change and was taken before I was). When it gets done, I get into the car and the engine light is on and the oil life hasn't been reset!!!! They reset the oil life and then spend another hour trying to find out why the engine light is on................then the mechanic says,"there's a problem with my clutch but our computers are down and I can't find out what part to replace and I can't do any more work for you"!!!!
They re-flash the computer and take the engine light out give me the car and expect me to drive away without any other concern?????????????
Two oil changes from this dealer...........two screwed up situations. This dealer is done for me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

it can be tricky in the SS/SC without the right socket wrench. it's actually really simple once you realize how it works.
basically, the filter is in a small canister on the back right hand ride of the motor (between the driver side headlamp the the valve cover) the lid unscrews and the filter lifts out. it's much like a BMW's filter. the only issue is that on the SS/SC, the supercharger is in the way.

I got the special socket for $11 on Ebay (its made by Lisle Tools so it should be available to any parts store). On the NA cars there is nothing blocking access to the filter.
BTW you can just get the regular socket from the hardware store, but they are a little too tall and will rub on the plastic intake manifold runners. I was concerned about leaving scratches there, so I got the special socket.

a regular socket works fine. Just gotta get it on the damn cap first.
