Can you swap a 06 motor with a motor from an 08?
I have a 2006 chevy cobalt 2.2L with a blown motor and a 2008 chevy cobalt 2.2l that is totaled is it possible to swap them? Only difference I can see are that the heads are different the one on the 08 has a cam sensor with coil packs, the 06 has an ignition module.T he 08 is an automatic and the 06 is a manual transmission so I don't think the computers will swap out. Is it possible to just swap out the coil packs and ignition module from the heads? It looks like they match up.

U may need the PCM. And if it has a different cam sensor it may have a different firing order. I did a swap on a 96 eagle talon once. Put a newer engine in. Didn't need a PCM or anything but I had to swap the cam sensors and doing so actually changed my firing order. Took me forbear to get it started. Or course once it did I had been sold a 4g63 with bad crank bearings. Knock knock knock knock
