throttle body ?'s...help
just wondering if anyone knew the size of the stock TB in an 08 sport (2.4L) and if anyone knows if a TB spacer would do me any good. i was wondering if an adapter would work if it was worth it (http://www.edelbrock.com/sportcompac.../tb_vict.shtml)
or http://www.andysautosport.com/chevro...l00125287.html
any help would be greatly appreciated.

ID is 68mm, so almost 2.7 inches
There have been debates on whether this would be beneficial or not on a 2.4... some say it would be overkill to increase the TB size for our NA engine.
if im right you only need a spacer if you increase the TB size to allow for the larger flap
get the Rebel Autoworxs kit (TB + spacer), they`re made exactly for our cars.
(plus they are electronic, not mechanical)
if you ever install this, keep us posted since I looked into this for a while and never ended up buying it.

i e-mailed rebel the other day about it. they said that the tb and spacer kit is only for the 2.0 super charged. i didnt think about what you said about the bigger tb and havin to clear the new valve. it makes sense, but im still wondering if a spacer will still help to flow air more evenly. plus, if i could get a bigger tb, i would have to get it tuned and i dont know where i could do that, and i still want to have my warrranty and be reliable ()if i get it tuned, what happens if something goes wrong).this is my daily driver, so i cant do anything too extreme.
for sure you would need a tune otherwise you would get a CEL
BTW, if the rebel kit is for the 2.0 SC, it will fit our cars since their stock TB fits on our cars (check in the HOW TO section)
a spacer won't do anything I think; it just moves up the TB by an inch or whatever thickness it is.

ok, everyone says to get uit tuned. first off, i dont know where i could get tuned in so cal. second, if something goes wrong an any way, aren't i screwed cuz i wouldn't be able to drive it, and the dealer would know and refuse the warranty.i dont know much about tuning,i was thinking bout getting a header/downpipe, but saw on the forums that people where getting CEL (dont know what it stands for, but know its check comp. codes). i dont know how to check or remove codes. i want my daily driver to still have warranties and what not.any info about this stuff would be greatly appreciated.
if the dealer finds the tune, yes your warranty is out the window (it has happened with a few guys that have HP Tuners here)... that's why I purchased a new tuned ECM from Vector, so I can take it out when I go in for maintenance
So if you do get a tune, I suggest you get a new ECM for safety.
You will get CEL's (Check Engine Lights) with catless downpipes. Well engineered aftermarket ones should not throw any CEL's. There have been numerous discussions about this.
(I installed a GMPP manifold + SS/SC downpipe on mine, no CEL)
to check and remove codes, buy an OBDII reader on e-bay (you should get one for about $30)
**** Get back to me about your hydrogen injection kit, I'm really interested in that!

ask anyone on the forums that has HP Tuners in California (might be hard to find...)

if i buy a reader, will it allow me to clear the code? also, the headers should be street legal, right? and no prob's with smog.
i'll pm you about the hydrogen
thanks, you have been helpful. i put in an LED 3rd brake light. when reading other posts about it, people said they lost cruise control and had to add resistors.mine work just fine after i replaced it, so i guess you can't believe everything.

yes you will be able to delete codes.
I bought mine for $30 bucks on e-bay; it's a reader that plugs into a USB port of your laptop
readers are pretty simple to use...and codes are usually easy to find. i just got one this past weekend and it works pretty good. plug and and play is awesome!
here's another question about the throttle body/spacer...im driving a 2.2....would this make any difference at all?...

I searched your posts and found the picture of the LSJ Vs the 2.2 exhaust but not the LSJ Vs the 2.4 DP.
no CEL's of course (it changes the sound of your exhaust also; you hear it a bit more in the cabin when you floor it)
