Why can't people believe an ss/tc runs 13.5 stock?
if this is so then why on earth was my G5 GT able to beet the V6 Mustang by almost a full second on an 8th mile track. Mind you i dont have a quarter mile close by to me. Also the G5 GT i had had at the most at the time about 160WHP id say roughly. I was a 5speed of coarse. Mustang was quite possibly a auto which could definately explain it not to mention the V6 is for chicks who wanna look hot no offense to any females out there lol. Same goes for the 5.7L hemi charger. I raced one on that same track and i lost with the G5 GT but by like half a second. He should have beet that car by way more then that.

It can be at the track, class, local car hangout, other forums or whatever but none of them think a car with roughly 240-250whp can run mid 13s. Everyone that has gone for a ride in my car knows its quick...even my brother who has a 12.9 01 Mustang Gt says it feels faster then his car.
Like it was said before the SRT4 crowd doesn't credit it because a magazine hasn't ran the time. But, if they ran a 14.4 in an nsrt4 the same people would be crying and saying they don't know how to drive. C+D hit 104mph in a sedan...while showing its potential it also showed the lack of driving/traction.

So as I said u guys are either full of ****, or u have factory freaks. Thats the only explanation because I can guarantee that if u sit down in a different SS/Tc you wont run that time again.
it isnt so much the driver skill, its the fact that only 2 ran 13's like that, and u trapped much higer than people who couldnt break 13's, which doesnt make any sense at all.

I believe it is a good combination of driver skill and good track ( traction ) conditions. He could duplicate that run in another TC. How is it that some were able to get a 215-225 whp NSRT-4 to run in the 13s stock but a 240-250 whp same weight cobalt that gets better traction than a stock NSRT-4 cannot run 13s stock. Hell, the magazines wer able to run 13.8 at 104 with TC they could not get a NSRT-4 to run faster than 14.2. Your arguement holds no water get out of this thread.

I will also attest that I made a 13.9 @ 106.6 stock. U see that trap speed? Thats good for mid to low 13's. Ya know what would happen if I actually got bettter than a 2.3 60'? My quarter mile time would have looked something like 13.6@104, or 13.3@102. The 106.6 shows that I got no traction off the line, then made up for it later.

The lower my 60ft times are the higher my trap speeds are.
I highly doubt that I own a factory freak.
My first pass was a 14.8 at 101...the next 3 or 4 passes I couldn't get out of the 14s at 101mph. The more I ran the car the more it loosened up and the better I was at launching it. Too be honest I think every ss/tc should be capable of 13.7-13.8s at 103...with the faster cars being a result of good track conditions.

I had a really nice looking C5 Z06 pull up next to me last night and I thought I finally had a race on my hands. When we got to the light he told me he wouldn't stand a chance :-( He would, he was just being lame. He wouldn't win, but he had a chance LOL. Sweet looking car though, he had a lot done in the looks department.
Obviously u have no clue about cars, and what a factory freak is. Why dont u do some research before u post? Perfect examples of GM factory freaks are the LS engines. Some dyno more than others stock for stock. It happens all the time. There are variations in EVERY CAR. Just because theyre made on an assembly line doesnt mean every car is going to dyno EXACTLY the same. Some run stronger than others out of the box. If u knew ANYTHING about trap speed and racing u would see that NOT ONLY DID THEY GET THE BEST TIMES, BUT THEY ALSO NETTED THE HIGHEST TRAPS.

The LS series motors were not factory freaks they were " detuned in the Camaro and TA" they were not actually detuned though. All LS1 make around 300 whp stock regardless of the car they are in. Road and Track got their TC to run 14.0 at 104 without using the NLS feature which is definately worth at least 2 tenths of a second.
Back on topic. It is possible for a TC cobalt to run 13.5 stock it has been done and will be done again. A 2900 lb car with approx 245 whp will run mid 13s with good driver and good traction.

You really dont think that keeping your foot in the throttle and not waiting for the turbo to spool back up after each shift is worth a couple tenths of a second in the QM. BTW that same magazine got 6.2 sec to 60 and 14.6 at 97 mph in the QM for your Caliber SRT4. I am not a ricer BTW I own only American made cars, This is my first non V8 car.
It has been beaten to death but the SRT guys can't believe I ran a 13.5 stock. Some MS3 heads have called BS on my youtube vid also. I guess people cannot accept the fact that Chevy makes a quick 4 cylinder.

Too be honest with the stage kit getting pushed back I wouldn't be suprised with myself or Marin hitting a 13.4 this year. The 104 trap speed shows the car can move...it's just getting it off the line is what matters.

In an IDEAL world where all conditions are perfect then yes it is, maybe even better than that. The fact of the matter is we dont live in a perfect world, therefore ASSUMING perfect conditions everytime is ricer math.
I got a 13.9@106.6 stock with my CSRT4. Some scored lower than that stock as well, 13.8, and 13.7 is the lowest I saw stock. The fact that u think magazine ratings are gospel is REALLY a bad comparison to someone who drives the car all the time everyday.
Say, since u only like to compare magazine racing to real racing, how many times have u been to the drag strip with ur SS/TC?
nobody believes you because everyone thinks there the better driver and its JUST TOO impossible. a video evidence is more than enough to say yo ******* i run this number. if people don't believe your video. i would delete the thread you started and say these people arent worth the time of day.
