Trifecta Tune
Trifecta Tune
couple of questions
How much is the deposit for the GTTuner.
Is there a way to put the tune on with a laptop? If so do you supply software/cable. Is there an extra cost or deposit for this option?
I'm Planning on purchasing the tune on the 15th of this month and need to know total cost so I can budget for it.

Not sure about the GT tuner, I used my laptop. They will ship you the cable needed to connect your laptop to the car. It's 30 dollars shipping and they put a $200 hold on your account until you return it. I would go laptop route, the program is very simple to run, my gf uploaded one of my tweaked tunes and she knows nothing about cars lol
Exactly. Thanks for asnwering his questions.
As stated, the cable is easiest. $20.00 shipping for the cable, both ways. $200.00 deposit for the cable until returned.
So, $350.00 for the tune.
$20.00 S&H.
$200.00 deposit which is NOT captured but must be available for a "hold".
Just fill out the order form to start the process and we will call you to confirm:

That $250 is for the old non swithchable and detectable tune. The $350 tune is a 2 in 1 tune a stock tune and the latest one (undectable by gm) which you can choose to have it so the traction button or the cruise button will let you select which tune! well worth the extra $

sounds good to me!
is their a written promise, support or warranty on how "undetectable" it is?
ie: they find it, so now what was the extra $$ for?
disclaimer (i think its totally worth the chance and a great price, but i am curious)
so what your saying is i can have my stock tune and an upgraded tune all on one PCM?
all you do is have it set up to turn on when you turn off traction control or cruise control?

I do beleive vince (trifecta) had a gm tech follow gm's procedure of checking to see if an aftermarket tune was on the ecm he had tuned. and vince won!
now because it is switchable if you take it in for warranty work and you leave it on the trifecta tune and the tech, on a test drive, sees it boosting over 15psi then that's a new game.
and no there is no gaurantee. as probably expected.

:drools:
Are both the old and new tune available still? The reason I ask is I have (as if you can't tell by my sig and name) an 07 LS 2.2...base model...no traction, no cruise...how would it work to have 2 tunes on a car like mine? Or is this thread and price only referring to FI RL's and Cobalt's (SC or Turbo)?
looks like he raised the price for the ss/sc tune 100 bucks also now that he is 3rd party. I was on the trifecta website a month ago and it said 250 dollars for a ss/sc tune. oh well everybody wants there piece of the pie i guess.
Sorry for missing this message. I have been working in the shop a lot lately and now trying to catch up on office work.
$350.00 is for the Turbo models ONLY as the tune is not detectable and you can switch tunes on the fly. Vince is working on the "non detectable" feature for the non turbo models.
As for a guarantee; not offered. You have to understand, Vince basically writes the tune to report back as "stock" to the current Tech 2 scan tools GM uses. But, there is no way for him to know if they change the procedure, change the tool, etc, and they certainly are not going to call him to let him know if they do.
Thanks all.

Details.....
So is this stock/performance switch in the cruise button or the traction control button? Do you need anything else to go with the tune, ie. sensors like the LNF kit? I am researching the different computer upgrades, trying to make an informed decision.
