The flu shot is important for everyone. With everyone getting the flu shot it not only protects yourself, but also creates a "herd" type immunity so those that are unable to get the shot are protected by those around them who had the shot and therefore will not be able to give it to them.

So dont just think of it as getting it for yourself, it also protects those around you who dont have the availibility of the shot or who cannot get the shot due to health risks (egg allergies, etc)

My wife is newly pregnant and cannot get the shot yet, so I will definitly be getting it to help protect her and our baby, untill she can get it.

Also the reason this is a pandemic is because noone has immunity to this flu type. Normal flu there is a immunity built up in everyone so it is harder for it to be transmitted. If noone at all got a shot it would travel through everyone very quickly. Us healthy people would just get sick but young kids and old folks have a lot harder time dealing with it.
