Question How the heck do you remove the hood gas shock?

flat head....there's a retaining clip around the ball joints, kinda like c clips. Wedge the flat head in there and simply push outward, not a lot of force is required, the retaining clip doesn't come off all the way, just pull. If I still had mine on the car I'd take a pic and show you.

If they are anything like the shocks from the lift gate of my mothers suburban, they have a metal band thing that sort of locks them in. You have to pry that off first and then pop the shock of.

Cool, thanks for the answers. Thats what I was trying, carefully. Gotta go put some more ass into it.

edit: alright, there is a c clip on each end of the prop rod thats kind of a bitch to put back on after you get it off. fyi
