Yet Another RPD Replacement Option

Okay guys/gals, I know us 08 folks, and the 09 sedans peeps kind of wish we had the RPD, even if we dont want to admit it. And I know some people people have opted for a a dashhawk (250-300 dollars), which is decent. Then there are other folks who have gone for the RPD installation (500-600 dollars), which is okay. And lastly the uber-cool kids went out and bought the dashdaq(600-750 dollars), which IMO is AWESOME, but it is the priciest.

Wellllllllll...I have found the middle ground. Some may know about this but I did not. Ladies and gents I bring you.....(drum roll) the DashDyno from Auterra. Its kind of bulky, but it is ONLY 350-400 dollars, and it shows 133 different parameters. Of course I still <3 the dashdaq, but for half the price this is a nice little piece. Did I mention its Windows compatible? Shweettttt!!!!! Of course Linux is more stable, but I still use Windows, and dashdaq is Linux based.

Anyways, look for yourself, and see if you like.

Dont get me wrong the RPD is nifty, and much more "cool" looking, but its not practical. You cant datalog. Datalogging is key to everything when evaluated performance of a car, and when you actually look at your cars performance on paper, you can really see where you need to improve. And of course you 09 guys get yours added in your car from GM. Us 08 guys dont have that option. We have to go aftermarket for this. Either dashhawk, dashdaq, or dashdyno. Of course the dashdaq is the best option, and if you can afford it, definitely get it. But for 350-400 bucks a pop, is worth it, IMO.

Not enough info on the screen imo, for $400 you get 4 pids. The dashdaq on the other hand can display as much info as you can fit on the screen since you can make your own themes. At $550 its the priciest, but damnit its the coolest by far

That's pretty cool how the DashDyno has a built in GPS for checking out your path and Google Earth and stuff.

I bet if you're troubleshooting something you could say "yeah it did ___ when I was right about here on the map." and look at the logs when you were at that exact place. Interesting.

Exactly. Its worth the cash, IMO. Of course I am still hugging the dashdaq's nuts. But this is the BEST alternative to a dashdaq.
