Trans Am muffler popped onto my 2.2 Ecotec videos

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jomeMVMhy8o (new video - Drive by video/audio sample)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XRwtqKZk1Qc (3k revs at idle)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BXE4KMcsHdM (driving)

This is my wife's Sunfire, you can read the story on the videos.

I am so happy that my ears no longer are bleeding yet the performance slightly got upped, that I want the shop to do the same on my Cobalt LS.

My son is 2, he hates driving in the wife's car because of the noise, I fixed that yesterday.
I also hated the droning bass I was exposed to daily.

The dual tips were actually made in shop, not a production item.

I think it is a mellow, low tone, but aggressive when at WOT exhaust that for me is perfect.
When I think about upgrading an exhaust, the louder, the more performance.
It actually likes this set-up better than the old turbo muffler it used to have.

loud does not equal performance.

I learn something new every day.

I told my friend who owns a muffler shop about what I wanted, he said the 2 1/4 in and dual 2 inch out and the longest resonator he had in stock is what I should have. I nodded, but was worried the flow was less than a 2 1/4 out. He told me two 2" outs is more flow than one 2 1/4". He then asked what tips I wanted. I let the wife choose, first it was two sort of box looking tips and then a dually. It is the wife's car, and everything on it is either what she wanted, or what I talked her into getting (performance wise).

When he looked for a second dually tip he found out the one he showed us was 'the' only one he had.

He actually made those dually tips from 4 singles, he did a lot of work to make them. Seriously, it was a few hours just to do the tips, the rest was done pretty quickly.

The end result made me very happy.
I am going with the same setup as soon as I get the money.

I really need new O2 sensors as they have 110k miles on them.

New video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xUOkzu0vnNE

This one is inside the car, going from 2k (partial throttle) to 4k RPMs (2/3 throttle), then lightly pressing it a hair more to build to 4400 RPMs.

It is to demonstrate the sound quality of the exhaust only.
No WOTs, timers or races.

*Just a sound clip so people can listen before deciding on an exhaust.

Oh yeah, the third video...

When the car starts to move, some show off in the mall to my right floored it, peeling wheels for a second.

The wife took off very light and then accelerated to 3200 rpms.

She did not know I was going to video this, so it is just a demo of the exhaust tone.

Yeah the guy in the background had a huge fart can and floored it around a corner which was big time unsafe to do at a strip mall parking lot. Sounded like a friggin trumpet, the same trumpet on American Pie, lol!

On the 4th video, it gives you an idea of what it sounds when it gets aggressive.
Even when it is WOT, it is nowhere as bad as when I had that turbo muffler.

In video 2, there is such a cool thrushing sound when the car goes from 800rpm and then anything above that 1200rpm, 2000rpm, it just sounds very cool. I never had a car that sounded like that before from the outside.

It used to be, I always knew when the wife was in the neighborhood as the wall would vibrate. Now it is stealthy yet ready to give a more quality aggressive sound. Love it!

Yep, everyday it is like an obstacle course on the road for us all. Amazing how some people have a drivers license. Where I live, the snowbirds come out here this time of the year. It is one of the reasons I got the Rally Yellow Cobalt, I wanted them to actually see a color their quadrafocal glasses can pick up.

That long line of cars guaranteed had some hesitant old man wondering if a car may appear out of thin air and cut him off at the green light. Plus the right lane for the on ramp, no one stops there even when red if no one is in the turn lane to get on.

Thanks for the compliment on the exhaust. Now that the wife is sporting a nice exhaust, it is the same set up I am going with too. I need to price how much someone will cut out the right side of the bumper to match the left. Money is short, so that wont be for a while.

I added one more video, this time it is a drive by video so you can hear the car from the outside.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jomeMVMhy8o

You will hear the car around 11 seconds and see it very soon after.
