GM Stage 3 Update! It's Coming September!
OK guys i've been emailing back and forth with GM. They sent me an update on GM Stage 3. Here is my original email and response along with the latest emails and responses. The word is the part number will be released in August. The 1st email I sent is at the bottom. The most recent response they sent is right here at the top.
UPDATE!
Hey guys I emailed them again and this was the response.
Hi, Tony-
Parts should be available next month. You'll probably see more info around SEMA time. You might want to pick up the SEMA issue of TPR magazine.
The delay was caused by a supplier who mis-built our 2-pass intercooler endplates, so we had to send them all back. The problem is being corrected immediately, and then we'll be ready for sale.

Hi, i'm just looking for an update on the GM stage 3 release for the Cobalt SS. Any info would be greatly appreciated.
Hi, Tony-
The word I'm getting is that we'll release the part number in August. Knowing how things work around here, I would translate that into September. We're trying to get some kits in stock before the part number goes out. Right now, we're still waiting on pulleys. The off-road box is part of the kit- - development is complete and the instruction sheet is being reviewed currently. No word on MSRP yet.

Tony-
Can you ask me this question again in another week. GM is shut-down until July 10th.
Stage 3 is not certified for on-road use, like Stage 1 and 2 were (not emissions certified). Also, I need to double check the warranty issue.

Hi, Tony.
We're going to officially announce the Stage 3 kit at NOPI Nationals on Sept 16th. It's not quite ready for sale, yet. We'll start selling at the end of November.

The disabled A/C isn't permanant. It's just disables when the box is on. This off-road box is built to go in and come out whenever is what I was told. That's why they call it an "off-road box" It means for track use. So the box is activated when you want.

I think you can do anything with HPTuners but I would like confirmation as well. The only bad part is, if you did it with HPTuners it would be permanent. If you use the off road box it can be disabled.

thats my point, no it wouldn't. you just would not include the disable AC part of the tune.
then you'd drive with stage 3 tune all the time, and only disable AC by turning off the knob.
i say that if GM wanted 750 for their stage 2, how much is stage 3 going to be?? plus its going to void the warrant?? and its not emissions legal? i would say just go ahead and go all out and get the intense stage 4 or something. thats just my opinion. from what ive read intense seems to have better customer relations than any dealership.

[QUOTE=CTCOBALTSSS]I agree 150% GM Techs are just garbage.
OH, Really!!
Who was the first on here to have STG2 up and running? Who verified the new redline with a "SNAPSHOT" graph? Who has installed several STG kits for members on here? How about the TSB's, info. and advise on problems, some have?
Your freindly GM TECH.

hey f u pal i am a gm tech
[QUOTE=NJBLUESS]
LOL. This obviously dosen't include you then bro. I'm talking about all the other techs that installed our stage kits. They have been clueless and that's being nice. I brought my car to 2 different dealerships because the first one didn't even know the car was supercharged.
Thank you for all your help NJBLUESS. I know it's not the tech's fault, GM doesn't give formal training on stage kits to all of their techs. Most never even heard of stage 2 is my point.
