Ok, I spent a couple hours on saturday cleaning the inside of my Cobalt, and today cleaning and waxing the outside. I've got my cover ready to go on, but I have a couple questions that I wasn't able to get clear answers about.

First off, to disconnect the battery or not. I'll probably store it at least till March, maybe April.
What to do with the tires. I was thinking about putting the car up on blocks and taking the tires off to prevent any flat spots forming. I've also heard that you can overinflate the tires to prevent this.
Now, I've also read that you should start the car up once a week or so. Now, would it be worth it then to disconnect the battery and tires just to put everything back in/on once a week or so?

Also, as far as fuel additives, what would you all recommend.

I think thats it for now. I guess I'll post up if I remember anything else.

 

I'd definitely go with starting the car up every week. That way, the fuel doesn't gum up and the battery won't lose its charge. Don't really know about the tires; I guess I'd probably drive it around the block on dry days to keep those flat spots from forming.

 

I'd kill myself if I lived back east! Here in AZ the forcast says we should be in the 90s by wednesday! Why can't you drive it during winter?

Already did those, in fact still in the process of doing one Dual pass intercooler mod takes longer than you think.

Tim I just put mine away November 2nd..

On my Pirelli's I never got flat spots and it sat on Concerte all winter. I put a 03-05 Cavailer car cover on the car and it fits like a champ. Totally sweet. Keep the battery plugged in and start it at least once every two weeks. Also make sure it has a full tank of gas.

As for prepping the car with wax etc. Your wasting your time. Also, don't add anything to the fuel. Also a waste of money unless you put regular unleaded in... Premium doesnt' require this.

dude put about 40 to 45 pounds of air in tire

disconnent battery if u want

then buy some fuel stabilizer

and no need to start it ever week that makes things worse

if u plan on starting it make sure u let it run to full temps

 

more work storing the damn thing than driving.
drivng mine with snows ftw.

 

But I save money on insurance. My Cobalt full coverage is 230 a month, my Cavy full coverage is only 95. Thats extra mod money.

 

Why would starting make things worse?
