Canned Tunes Vs. Hp Tuners?

alright, Im a complete newb when it comes to HP Tuners.... Ive read the website and their forum and am still pretty lost...

Im just asking for a comparison of getting a "canned" tune done (AKA Vector or Westers...) versus getting HP Tuners and potentially screwin up my ride?

Its always better to have someone custom tune your car (if they know what they are doing) Canned tunes are a generic tune for the mods for the car. As you know all these cars are different so a can tune is not always a good option. In my opinion id go with a custom tune.

custom tune all the way, intense, vector and all those pepz are always a good base tune to get your car running. Maybe not as safe as and wont make as much power as if you would custom tune ur car, specifically for your own afr, and how much timing your car would like or not.

If there are no shops id get the canned tune then and then get a wideband AFR gauge to just make sure your not running lean.

BUt make sure you get a AFR gauge. It will make sure your not running lean.

He's running a 2.4l n/a not a SC. Boost pressure varies quite a bit between identically modded F/I cars accounting for the tuning differences experienced on the SC (notably with Intense's tunes). I don't think he will have a problem running lean, as there is not as much tuning varience between n/a cars with identical mods as there is on F/I cars. Just be sure to tell them all your mods and the primary altitude you will be driving at.
