I got off of work today, I was waiting at a stop light. It's my turn to go. So I go out it in first, and then when I went to put it in 2nd gear there was NO ingagement of the gears from 1st to 2nd. there was freeplay for about 5 seconds or so. It not only happened once, not twice, but THREE times in a matter of 5-10 minutes. I took it to my cousins shop and he felt the same thing. but it was fine after that. I got on the freeway stepped on it and everythign was fine after that. I went through some traffice areas around town, but it hasn't happened since, Hey guys I need your info on this. Is this a problem i should be worried about?? Has this happened to anyone lately? I don't drive hard on it. well maybe sometimes. but I don't drive crazy. Should I take it to the Chevy dealer?? PLease anything would be helpful thanks again Cobaltians!!!!!!!

 

As a service guy I know you can not fix anything that is not brocken. Wait till it happens more frequent befor you take it to the dealership. Mybe take it in to have the oil checked on the trany to see if any filings or such. I have never had that problem with my SS/SC.

 

You mentioned oil changed, Had the oil changed this morning at my cousins shop. I trust him, But I will wait to see if still happens thanks bro!!

 

I think he meant tranny oil, not engine oil.
