Rev It Up has Returned for 2007

Event registration has opened, and they are using automatic SS Cobalts for the timed track runs just like last year. They have several classes baced on driver experiance and they have other prizes for top of class and such. By the way the grand prize is an '08 Corvette. Get your fellow cobaltss members together and turn it into a meet, check it out

yea i already sent them an email complaining that with no manual shift cars for the competition its biased towards drivers of auto's. i havent had an auto for over a decade and the driving style is completely different to make one go fast. last year coming off turns id try to feed the power in smoothly and the auto trans lag would kill my time then tried getting on the gas sooner and just got wheel spin off the turns. they should have either sticks or auto's as a choice, if im paying to goto the event then they should provide me with a vehicle im comfortable with. if you go though take the ten dollar ride in the zo6 its worth it.

Registration is really open now, everyone go sign up for your spots.

I'm heading to raceway park on saturday, so my balt or my friend's cavy will be in the parking lot.

I can't believe they aren't coming to Charlotte... or even anywhere remotely close like Atlanta. That sucks...

They dont have manual because they don't want any kind of unfair advantage and they don't want to destroy clutches. If its all auto then it keeps a level playing field for all. It's gonna be one hell of an event. Cannot wait.

WILL MY AWESOME MANUAL TRANSMISSION SKILLS GIVE ME A HUGE ADVANTAGE?
No. To level both the playing and the racing fields, all tracks will have cars equipped with GM automatic transmissions. If you absolutely have to drive a stick, one of the high performance Skills Clinics will offer you a choice - a Cobalt SS (auto) or a Cobalt SS Supercharged (manual).

Hope its true

okidok, i read it wrong, for the competition itself, everyone drives an automatic....but hey i have been to an autocross before where an 04 corolla S, actually beat out the whole class of manual cars b4:P

Just went last weekend here in Orlando; it was awsome as usual! The only thing that sucked was the rain, and both of competition runs were in some pretty good rain storms. It'd be nice if you got more than just two runs!
