Engine Ticking Noise

I have had a ticking noise by the tensioner pulley for awhile now. I brought it in to the dealer and after about 2 hours they told me i need a new engine. They say that a bolt in the tensioner pulley broke thats why there was a ticking noise. Then they found another noise in the engine checked it out,and told me there were metal shards in my oil that chewed up my cams. I have had the dealer check the noise before and they said it was probaly coming from the pulley but it wasn't a problem, guess it was. It's covered under warranty so there installing a brand new motor for free. Nice. They told me that they can't buy the parts indvidually so a new motor is the only way.
