Hey everyone,
Well I've had my SS for about 6 months now and I gotta say I'm very happy with it.

I was polishing it yesterday and I noticed that it was a little rough under the spoiler. So I tried to rub it out with my finger and it started peeling off.. like it was some kind of coating on the paint that shriveled up... The paint is still black, and shiny, but without that peeling stuff.

I have had no experience with painting a car. Is this the clearcoat of the paint or is this just something that needed to come off. I am going to be storing it for the winter so before I tell the insurance company I would like to know if I should have it looked at... and possibly pay any money to look at it.

 

is the stuff peeling off clear @ flaky ??

or is it more of a plastic cirand wrap type ??

 

its more of clear flaky... kind of looks like dandruff I guess you can say lol.

 

sounds like clearcoat coming off, go to the dealer and have them take a look at it.

unless some droped doughnut glazed on your trunk
