$1500 rebate not really $1500?

Been told this by two dealers. The $1500 rebate does not apply to the SS, the SS only gets $1000 rebate.

The first time I heard it, I called bs, but now I was just told the same thing by another dealer.

Anyone else had this problem recently? Can someone that works for GM check to see what the vehicle's vin #'s qualify for? My local zip is 66213.

I got my car during the memorial day sale, cobalts had a $1500 rebate... When I went to sign the papers they said its only $1000 for the SS model, I wouldn't be surprised if it was the same deal.

This is common, it even says in text on the commercials that it does not apply to SS models

Some of the dealers I talked to yesterday tried this garbage...they are going by outdated sales sheets, I believe. However, if you have them punch in the VIN, they will find that the $1500 rebate does apply.

Awesome, this is what I wanted to hear. He offered to look up the vin for me last night to show me it was a $1000 (which apparantly, according to you, it will say 1500) But I told him we can do that once we agree on a sale price and trade value, which didn't happen.

That is exactly what was happening to me. The dealers here had wrong info. The Saleswoman showed me when I went to look at my car to prove she was being honest with me.

DEALERS HAVE THE WRONG INCENTIVE SHEET, MAKE THEM PUNCH IN THE VIN!!!

**** the dealer tell him your going to pay 20k for the car out the door and make them do it. i do and i get cars for what i want.
just tell them what your paying for it and make them give it to you for that. be reasonable and make sure you have alot of time to go back and forth. dont let them play the well how much do you wanna pay a month make them show you all number every time they walk back and forth. see how much how many moths what interest and monthly payments. then work the numbers to where you want them. they are not your friend or giving you a deal you are making them money you are doing them a favor and you deserve the lowest price. lower than there cost lower than you think. be a dick and do it how you want

when i bought the wifes car i took dealer A. on a ride with me to another dealership. walked in the door on the test drive and asked all of them, what they could do to beat the deal i was looking at with the car i drove on the lot. well everyone accept me looked a bit uncomfortable, but they new i meant what i was talking about and that i could and would just go to the next guy and get what i wanted

My dealer gave me $1500 on the write up on Monday. I'll have to wait and see what happens when I make the actual payment on Thursday. He showed me his paper sheets with the rebates and the SS Turbo had $1000 rebate and $500 bonus cash.

Everyone who is getting ready to purchase an 08 SS/TC, read this!!!!!

I just got an email from my salesperson saying his sales manager called GM to figure out what is going on. Aparantly there was a computer error saying that the 08 SS Cobalt receives $1500, when it should only read $1000. They are working on fixing this problem.

Now, my salesperson called and got a "case number" so that I will still be guaranteed my $1500 rebate even after they "fix" the computer problem.

If you are about to purchase one, call your salesperson and make them call and get a case number to guarantee you the extra $500.

Yeah, i believe that.

One of two things is happening.
Either my salesperson is yanking my chain and trying to look like the "good guy who is going all out for me"

Or Chevy really did make a mistake by adding all of the 08 SS's to the 1500 rebate, and is in the process of fixing this problem.

Either way, I figured I would post what I was told, so that anyone else who is looking to purchase can contact their salesperson.

They put a incentive of $1000 in front of me. I said the website says $1500 for the SS. They said there were 2 models of SS for 08. I said that's how it used to be, but when they moved to the Turbo, they dropped the second and that's why it's just the SS now. He checked the VIN and I got the $1500. Just need to get my GM Points from the other dealer and I'll have the car tomorrow.

up in canada there are no rebates at all for the car.

1.9% interest over 5 years or 2.9% over 6 years.

and we wont sell for less then MSPR on these models.

both cars on my lot cost $28,280

funny how you guys in he states get them off the lot cheaper by thousands then our dealer cost is.
GM as well as all other auto makers needs to fix that issue asap i think.
