'08 to '09 similar brake issues...(Question)
PRE-DEALER QUESTION
So after reading all the threads about brake issues i was wandering if my specific issue related to the old recall on '08 pads.
I have an '09 that was made in November '08 and I now have 7K on the car.
Only mods are> Hahn Cat-back and Enkei 18's on stock Continentals. I viewed the work as it was done professionally and visually verified that all wheels were torqued to 100ftlbs and re-torqued after 25miles.
(MY ISSUE)
>When stopping slowly below 40 and lower i get minor pulsation. Below 20 the car kind of lightly jerks forward like there is a spot on the brakes that is gripping more, and also my steering wheel moves slightly left and right. I do NOT get a lot of pedal pulsation though and at higher freeway speeds any pulsation seems non-existent.
Does anybody think this is rotor warp or am I simply not using and bedding the brakes into their full potential with my daily 12mile street commute. It is quite odd that when they do "SQUEAK" its an on and off squeak as I come to a stop.
So tonight I did 3-HARD 60mph stops on an empty road, then didn't touch the brakes while they cooled, maybe this cleared off the brake dust but maybe didn't help my pulsation....They DIDN'T pulse at all while i made the HARD stops, we'll see on the commute tomorrow i guess.
I will see how it goes and if it gets any worse I'll contact my DEALER right away....Just wandering if anybody had any insight into my Issue.
Thanks,
SS_carnatic

I think it's your rears. it will only get worse. get'em checked and don't take no for an answer if they don't warranty them. The 08 recall was for FRONT brakes, the 09's are having issues with the rear pads specifically the inner rear pads.
I have the same issue it's mad annoying. I took it into the dealer and the guy came up with the assumption because they were brembos and the fact they use a harder pad that it will sqeak. I told him I understand that, but it's waaay to loud.
