08 cobalt ss vs 08 caliber srt4?
The new 2008 Cobalt SS actually set a new track record at Nuremberg, here is a youtube link to a awesome video of a pro taking it out at nuremberg ( might be same guy who set the record with it, hes good driver) He has nothing but good things to say while hes driving through the course, about the car of course.

hey man Im with you and badss/sc all the way. Dont waste your fingers anymore. the problem is we are on a cobalt site and heaven forbid there is something out there faster then a cobalt, no one wants to listen. Dont waste you time man. And by the way you srt4 is one of the cleanest Ive seen in a while. I had a guy show up to my shop a couple of days ago and he flat out destroyed his srt4 it was pretty damn fugly. Only thing he has going is he is ready to pay me to make it go fast.

You're comparing a 2.4L to a 2.0L, of course the CSRT is going to have more kick for the money. Whoever said should've gotten an EVO or STi for the road courses.....wow. Yes, they are great contenders but you do know that the cobalt ss/tc is proven to be a fantastic corner carver, right? Pretty sure the CSRT would have a bit of a problem around the track having to lug the size and shape of it around. Not saying it's not quick or decent looking but Cobalt SS/TC ~20k, EVO or STi ~35-40k......the cobalt is a damn good deal for any use. fiscal got it for the right reason, it's an inexpensive car that can hold it's own on a drag strip or a road course. It's not the fastest car, but in the right hands, it'll beat a good amount of it's competition. ****, I know a guy that takes his fox body out to the road course and tears it up while passing cars that should be passing him.
your a waste of time, thats why Im done typing to you directly, your a fanboy, go have fun, I never once, said your name in the post you refered too, and actually never asked for your opinion, thanks though. I dropped a few IQ points listening to more of your jiberish
I owned a fully built 05 MR evo. Last dynon before I sold we put down 670 on 93 oct and meth. But honestly as fast as the old evo was compared to the new evo. The X has way more handling potential and sson enough Ill have the shop X at way more straight line potential too. And yeah, its one mean looking car, you cant be\at a car that is fast and looks angry off the lot. Tahnks for the comps man

And just so everyone knows, one of the members on the caliber forums Im at beat a 6.0l GTO on the highway with just a CAI and turbo back. Really puts in perspective how crappy the stock intake and exhaust is on these cars...
When I throw on my exhaust, and change out my airbox I will race my stage 2 friend and post the vids.

Thats why it makes more power than the tiny dual scroll turbo in the SS.
Straight line: CSRT4 > SS/TC
Twisties: SS/TC > CSRT4
And that pretty much sums up how it works.

I know that part! lol I was mentioning that for the modding factor. The CSRT will pick up more ponies with mods due to the bigger displacement anyway. I've yet to see any up here but I do like the way they look a lot!

Apples and oranges anyone?
Not that the Neon was a looker, but Chrysler fucked up with the decision to make the SRT4 based on the Caliber platform...

Well if AWD was the end-all way to go every sports car would be doing it. But I'm sure we can all name a TON of genuine sports cars in many different price ranges that are RWD such as 350Z's... Corvettes, Vipers, NSX on up to Ferrari's... Heck even the McLaren F1 which is supposed to be the ultimate driving machine is RWD. Then you have the Bugatti Veyron which is AWD and makes a crapload of power but it's also a pig... a pig on steroids.
Then you look at dragsters, NASCAR, F1... I mean all kinds.
In LeMans you see AWD quite a bit but they don't always win.
I mean when you are spending that kind of money if AWD had the hands down, clear cut edge, those cars would have it, guaranteed.
FWD is certainly not ideal but they've come a long way. A properly set up RWD can keep pace and/or mop the floor with an awd. Lots of variables... drivers being a big one.

What's your definition of "smoking the **** out of"? The SS/TC with a good driver would beat a CSRT4 with a good driver about 1-2 cars at the most. That is a close race. When I hear someone got smoked in a race, I assume it's at least 10 cars.......some of you guys need to stop the ricer mentality.

Yeah I think it would be really close. Drivers being equal... probably closer than two cars. >IMO
Yeah, and the EVO X is nearly twice as much as the Cobalt SS and the insurance is the highest of any car in its class!
Apples and oranges anyone?
And none of the above will make it look good...

I will post pics tomorrow.
Well...my friend is a Dodge enthusiast to say the least, we always get in fun little arguments. After driving my car and test driving a Csrt4, he now wants an ss/tc. That's saying a lot from someone who will pretty much tattoo MOPAR on his ass.
before he makes a mistake, make sure you tell him 350 HP on the stage 1 kit, and 300 whp from exhaust and intake for the CSRT4...
