09 cobalt turbo clutch question
09 cobalt turbo clutch question
So i just recently did a clutch on my 09 because the car would not go into any gear while running. New clutch is in and Im having the same issues. It got a new clutch masters stage 3 clutch with lightweight flywheel and a new TOB. Bled the system properly. Could i have a bad trans?
Possibly.
If you pump the clutch a bunch does it go in gear? Could also be the shifter, if not adjusted it could make it quite hard to put in gear.
You could also try something not really recommended but it may give you an idea.
Car off put it in first, and while holding clutch down try to start it. If it lurches forward, shut it off, most likely clutch isn't releasing. If it doesn't, slowly release clutch pedal and see if it wants to creep forward. If the pedal gets to the top and still doesn't want to move most likely transmission

Won't go into any gear ?
Will it select gears ok with the engine off ?
If so, then there is a clutch issue.
If needed, drill a hole in the bellhousing and stick a camera in there to get a visual on the slave and fingers etc.
ur clutch isnt the problem. question, by not going into gear, do u mean it grinds when u try or there is just nothing there? if it grinds, u may need a tob spacer, which u need to measure the air gap before u install the clutch to see if u do. videos on zzps clutch page. if u get nothing at all the then the roll pin holding the shifter linkage to the trans is probably broken so u cant actually shift a gear. ud have to go under the car and see if u can rotate that linkage or if it secure. also could be the cable clamp on the shifter come loose, pop out ur cup holder and look
