Research > You

Everything you drop the transmissions in these cars you need yo change the salve/throwout bearing assembly. I did what you did way back and had to drop the transmission again and change it.

Don't know if that's your problem for sure but sounds like how mine was.

It's normal, you disturb the clutch stuff and it never works the same again. Thus why you replace the slave too.

I didnt replace mine when I had the exedy installed. I put 20k miles on it and it was fine. I dont know how it is now because I dont have the car anymore. What do you mean you turned the flywheel? The exedy comes with new everything, so I dont know what you mean.

I just noticed he said he had the flywheel resurfaced, which is also a bad thing on these cars. You have to replace the whole flywheel or you mess with tolerances.

Most of the time if you don't replace the slave you will have problems.

X2 ^^^^

1.) Replace Clutch
2.) Replace Flywheel
3.) Replace Slave Cylinder

(Not necessarily in that order).....

I have a Spec stage 2, I replaced the Slave, but had the stock flywheel resurfaced. I would have to agree with Black ss/sc, bad move to resurface these flywheels. My clutch still doesn't work correctly, I have to fitness it to get it to engage correctly. I am going with a lightened flywheel and a non Spec clutch next time.
