Exactly this! I was told 500hp would be do-able I was sold the engine on the idea that it would hold 500hp or at least get close. Hell I would have been happy with 400-450. I originally had the intent of 500hp but realize thats the max rating on the engine and its not wise to push it.

I realize its not 100% ZZPs fault they were under the impression that the engine would hold and had what it was said to have had in it. I can also understand why they want to play it safe because another blown LDK under their name doesn't make them look good. Their site does say the warranty doesn't cover bent rods (SHOCKER).

I was quoted 600-800 for labor and they suggested rods, pistons, and stage 2 cam to be able to hit over 400whp with ease on my engine. Doing the math thats over 2 grand in parts alone plus 6-800 in labor. I could probably get a little back on pull out parts (ie, let them keep my stock rods and pistons and LNF upgrade cams) but still I was sold for the 500hp rating and expected to get that.

I am emailing Tim back to see if I can work something out, discounted parts, sponsorship or something. Had I known it would max out at 350 I would have just gotten a long block with the k04 attached and been done.

From ZZP:
"The block is good for 500whp, but the rods and pistons are only good for about 450 engine hp. We only know of one legitimate failure at over 400whp, but it is risky to attempt it after hearing about it.

The $600-800 quote is a job that we don’t offer, but I would be willing to do it in your car because of the website statement being misleading."

In actuality 360-380whp would be 411-433 crank hp according to the guestimater. Still think its a crock of **** to advertise 500whp* ** ***
*block only
**warranty doesn't cover bent rods
***rods are weak

Take those ratings as a grain of salt... even the LNF block is good to 600-700whp but everything else is highly limited.

Isn't that "500whp" zzps rating? It's not like that's the manufacturer rating. How are they going to say it's rated to that but not warranty the rods ect? If it's a complete new engine from zzp, rated by zzp, and tuned by zzp, I can't see why they wouldn't warranty everything.

And I don't think the lnf block is rated that high lol just saying

Its a LDK longblock which I think is ordered right from the factory, its not a ZZP LDK. Its pre broke in from the factory factory everything. So from my understanding what they are stating "500whp" is from the factory ratings because ZZP is just buying from them and selling.

and a little over exaggerated but still
