I got the recall did for the power steering earlier this year even though I'm way past the warranty mileage. A recall is a recall and can be done anytime.

There's no way the recall on the power steering would be closed, it's a safety and liability issue. Who the hell told you that?

i talked to gm and they said there isnt any recalls, and i asked bout the powersteering one and they said it was closed now....kinda thinking i should crash and sue lol jk but yeah i asked about it when i got the car in jan, and i asked the service rep on here if i remember correctly, or the service rep at the dealer. either way im pissed cause i have races thurs-sunday. and my fuses are fine in my car a long with the scanners i used(i tried on different cars) and theres power going to my obd so i dont know why that wont work either. either way thank god for extended warranty. hopefully i get it back intime to race tho!

They can noway in hell "close" a recall ecspecially one that has to do with the safety of the car and the occupants inside. Call GM and tell them to shove it and demand it be fixed. That's the most outrangeous thing I have ever heard. Shame on GM if this is true.

Contact GM about the recall, unless you have good dealerships in your area. Sorry to hear about your issues man but I feel the same way.

so heres the scoop. somehow the connection for the electronic assist, the connector broke off so it unclipped or somehting. (was in the week before so i think they broke it most likely) and because of that it messed up my obd2 as weel. hurray for tie straps!

Hello all!

Just wanted to clear something up in the thread. A recall can be "closed" if the prescribed procedure has been completed on the vehicle. When I enter in a VIN, I see a list of open recalls, and a list of what has been closed, or in other words has already been performed, on a vehicle. I cannot disclose service information on a given vehicle prior to what has been done by the current owner and we (at least, "I") was instructed to provide information on open (yet to be completed) recalls only.

Hopefully this helps clear up any confusion, and glad you found the root of the problem RaymondT!
