2008 Cobalt SS Brembo brakes - Min. 17" Wheels
This was done on a 2008 SSTC Cobalt, this is not a brake conversion!
So , I decided to test fit the 17 Mag wheel from a Sport 2008 Cobalt.
Yes they fit, but damn they are thight.
I will put some 2mm spacer on mine to insure that the wheel will always clear the caliper.

Damn straight, leave it to us Canadians to actually get the job done
MARIN, YES they fit, I tested them as per the picture. Issue is that the caliper wall is very close to the wheel wall (see picture with the finger), so I will simply buy a 3mm spacer to insure that there won'T be any interference.
Now I'm the first one on any 17 inches SS wheel available !!!!!

Wait - you can actually get 17" inch steel wheels? I thought 16 was the limit??
Oh yeah - do we know what the offset is on the stock 17 inch wheels that were just tried on, and if so, what would be a better offset to get to clear the calipers?
Thanks,
Mal.

Krispy,
I have no idea what the first diagram represents, which is why I'm asking what the offset is - which I understand to be the distance from the inside face to the centerline of the wheel. From pictures I've seen of people placing the SC rime on the TC, it seems the diamter is OK for the 17 inchers, but that the offset is a bit too close.

I'll have to follow this thread closely. I'm in Northern Ontario and knowing my luck, my SS T/C won't arrive until it's time to throw snow tires on. I REALLY don't want to resort to leaving the forged 18"s on the car during the winter, so I'm desperately hoping an alternative can be found at reasonable cost for a new set of wheels.
What do those 17" wheels from the 2.4 go for?
