2009 Ss/tc
IDK about that. My deal got re-worked about a month after I bought the car. Long story short, they couldn't get me 0% on my loan like they promised. But, they did 'find' $3K in rebates that they could offer to make up for the interest I had to pay as a result of their screwup. In the end, I got the car out the door for ~19.3K with rebates and GMS pricing. And with GM's promo of Employee Pricing for Everyone going til 9/2/08, there's a chance that someone else can get a similar deal.

It ends September 2nd. Now, I hope you can get it before that date, but I hope we don't extend it past that date because an everlasting sale devalues the GM brand.
You'd really need them next to each other to tell the difference.

I e-mailed my sales guy just now and asked him if I should come in and get all that dealt with b4 my car even gets here just to ensure I get the best deal incase my car is late or something. I expect to hear from him within 24hours as usual, i used to work with him at the dealership i'm gettin mine from and he's kept me up to date on everything.

The big catch there is you start paying for it when you buy it....so I had a payment due like 2 weeks after I took delivery...and you have to insure it when you officially buy it....
However, I had to buy it in April to get my rebates, so it was well worth it...
50K in the bank, u should have paid cash or make a 10+K down payment
Regardless... I cannot stress the word enough.... REGARDLESS of how shitty the cobalts overall resale value is.... whatever shitty amount you get for it WHENEVER you sell it.... the 2009s will always fetch about 1500-2000$ more than a 2008. This was something I took into account when ordering a 2009, giving up the 1500 rebate on an 08 I could have had the same day ( bout month ago)
Come on people, basic common sense. Although... a rebate now is more financially clear to some than getting about the same amount on what is likely a sale YEARS from purchase date.
I know that in 5 years, when I am 28, I hope to God that I am still not driving my 2009 Cobalt SS. I am hoping my business degree will have paid off by then. Just my 2 cents all.
Have a great day.

You should be able to purchase the car once it has been built and the dealer has been invoiced for it. I officially bought my car on 4/28/08 but didn't take delivery until 6/2/08 (it was held at the plant).

Jesus.. people seem to forget that the rebates you got on your 08 will be made up for eventually on the resale of the 2009 model.

On top of that, I got $2,500 off...and you add in the 3% price increase (something like that) that they put on the 09 and you get quite a bit of savings...
Plus, who is going to want to buy a Cobalt after the 2011 Cruze comes out?

You should...but you will still only have 4-6 weeks before your first one is due...
Your logic about resale value might apply if we both went to sell them in 8 months...but in 3 years, it will not matter...

The Cruze will be built alongside the Cobalt for a year or two.
Or you might want to find a different dealership lol they WILL allow it on ANY vehicle but you have to find the right dealership that will actually give it. That's what a friend of mine had to do when the GT500 was first coming out. I think he ended up finding one in VA, while we're from Kansas City, MO.
