2010 ss tc--p0227 code

thanks to all for welcoming me on to the forums on the sign on page. So i use to have a 2006 ss and sold it to get my truck. So i needed to get a car again for traveling to my job and i instantly went on the hunt for a cobalt. After a month of searching...one popped up about 5hrs from where i live. 2010 ss tc with only 7200 miles on it...so i flew up there and bought it. So after owning the car for a month...the cel light came on. I didnt have a reader so i just took it to my local dealership. So they called and said that there was 2 sensors ( one one the intake and one on the lower pipe) that were not stock and that they changed them out...so not knowing what they were talking about...i picked up the car and asked them for everthing back since they charged me since it was not covered by warranty...and the car was not right at all...still had cel light and ran like a dog. Of course i called them and they told me to take it back to where i bought it from and they didnt want to work on car again. Well it ran so bad that i couldnt take it back...so i hit this forum and came across a picture of the gms1 upgrade...they had removed it. So i put everything back in and reset everything...fired it up and it was back. So in turn i went and bought a reader and am still pulling a code (p0227)...any ideas on what i can look at?

So looking around the forum...i see p0227 as barometric sensor and also throttle position low circiut? I noticed that my barometric output on my display is not working. Anyone know what i should be looking at? Already plled the air mass sensor and cleaned...

The baro sensor code on these cars is just a "virtual sensor." You have GMS1 3 bar sensors in your car but the tune isn't set up correctly for them. Purchase a tune from someone and tell the tuner you ave the 3bar MAP and TMAP sensors.

Thanks...im new to these tuners...just purchased my first code reader. So where would i purchase the tune from and how would i go about loading it to the car? Also...what quick /easy mods should i be looking at? Currently all stock except for the 3bar sensor upgrade from what i have learned...

Here are something I'm confused about: you said they took out what I assume is the GMS1 3 bar MAP and TMAP sensors and put back in what I assume is the 2.5 bar sensors, but they wouldn't have been able to do that if the pigtails weren't the "plug-and-play" style, right?

You said you put the 3bar sensors back in, so I am assuming you have the "plug-and-play" style of connectors. In that case, call the dealership and ask them to look up the history on your car and see if the GMS1 flash was ever put on your car. That can only be done by a certified GM tech, so they should have records of it. If it was, tell them they need to put it back on there since it was already purchased and is now not working.

If there is no record of a GMS1 flash, get in touch with a local Trifecta dealer to get you set up with a tune for the 3bar sensors. That'll run you about $320.

If you really want to get deeper into modifications, buy a laptop, buy the HPTuners software suite for your car, and contact IAmBroke (Tom,) Terminator 2, or 09Cobaltss for an HPT tune. That'll run you near $1K, but you have the ability to log your car anytime and learn to tune it yourself, if so inclined.

You can to any Chevy dealer and get the history ran so long as it was done at a dealer. They just need your vin and if it was there for anything they will print it out free of charge.
