6000k will be brighter and be less blue. I would get those over 8000k

I think 8k looks better but the 6k are better output.

6k... I have either 5k or 5.5k in mine. I do not like the blue color, I like bright white light though...

6k.

The higher the k the less usable light there is. Get 5k for the best bright white color. 6k has a hint of blue, especially as they "warm up".

Says the guy with yellow fog lamps

But seriously though, 8k is dumb. 6k is even stretching it. Honestly you should go with a 5k 55W or 4.3k 35W setup. Brightest and most useable light output.

what company hid's?
it shouldnt, but it does matter.
i had ddm in an older car - 10k, and then used for a week 30k and it was the same, then went to a 6k and it was still very blue, and another company 6k was almost white with a touch of baby blue...
if quality hid's, then 6k is perfect...

goodluck.

It depends a bit on the manufacture sometimes though. From what I've seen temps vary slightly between them. For example 6k from Company X has a bit of blue when Company Y's 6k is pure white.

He's right though. Also, fogs should be yellow. I agree with you otherwise

Well technically you're right, yellow is better at cutting through fog. But you actually want a dimmer light in real fog so that less light is reflected back at you, which is why halogen is better, and why no car comes with OEM HID fog lights.

6k 100 percent. The projectors will make them look bluer than you think they would. I recently got the DEPO projector headlights with my 6k HID's and I have 6k fogs too, looks great. Ohh and I have LED signals that are white/ blue too. It's a really nice set up, I'll get a picture tonight.

For my money I'd go with The Retrofit Source for your HID needs. They sell quality units.

I was under the impression 6k had no blue. BuyHIDS site describes 6k as "pure white" and 8k as "bluish white" I went with a pair of complete retrofits with 6k bulbs, and should be picking them up today. Ill take pics of the install and output afterwards. I hope theres no blue.... cars with blue HIDS aggravate the **** out of me... if I catch them out of the corner of my eye I always think its cop lights initially.

^ Same, I've been sketch whether I should have bought 5k or not. I've yet to install them though. New bulbs can always be purchased though.
