It will be kinda hard for the techs to find the tune on my spare ecu that is sitting at home in my garage while the stock orignal ecu is in the car during service

The fact that your battery is always reset each time you bring the car in for service will give them enough suspicion.

Learn about what you're talking about before you type. Read up on how the tune is made to be "undetectable", that way you don't have take it as "somebody's word". Don't go around spreading ignorance; that's the worst thing for this site or any forum for that matter.

Sooooooo then i got to thinking?????????

I wonder if the GM Performance Division is coming out with a Stage 2 LNF Turbo upgrade. I know a few people are saying that they dont think that GM will bring one out due to the fact that more power will be getting to close to the LNF's pinnacle.........and the end of your warranty since it would be a little too risky for GM to make a stage 2 kit with a warranty attached that would break!

Me.......I dont agree......I think that GM will make another kit for the Cobalt SS Turbo......yup i truly do.

So?????? Has anyone out there seriously heard of an upcoming Stage 2 LNF Turbo upgrade???? ill be the first to buy one when they do

It's not looking so good right now i think... being this is the last year of production for this car. On the high side.. this engine is going to bein other vehicles as well... so its possible.

If you're motor blows and the dealer suspects foul play, do you honestly think they aren't going to find your tune?? Lets be realistic here, all they have to do is call in an area rep and an engineer and you're all done.

Lol, it's impossible to tell anything if you flash it back to stock.. They can bring in whoever the fukk they want. It doesn't prove anything.

What does GM use to do their diagnostics with, as well as the rest of the calibrations on the car? The Tech II. Call in whoever you want. All of Vince's work has been tested through the Tech II seeing that Vince himself owns one. So unless you expect GM to use something other than their standard equipment I'm not sure what your angle is... There are a few guys I know personally that have been warrantied for things such as: blown motor, grenaded end-tanks on the intercooler, etc. while still having their tune and the tune was checked for. Like you said, let's be realistic; if people were being denied of their warranties on Trifecta tunes, don't you think there would be countless threads on the topic? Dealerships don't need to find a tune to deny your warranty; there are a slew of things they can eliminate your warranty for... the tune is just the beginning. I personally believe people who push the envelope and cause major damage to their car should not try to take advantage of GM's warranty... because in the end we all pay, in one way or another, for those people.

No because I can say I tried to reset the car by unplugging the battery. They have to prove that it was tuned I don't have to prove I did not tune it.

Plus I am never going to the last dealership I went to.

I think it is funny how everybody thinks once your tuned your whole warranty is gone that instant. Id rather have a tune that is faster than GMS1 and has less problem

Guys being that I am an ex gm tech they have to prove that what ever problem is wrong with the car was caused by what ever mod you put on there. Also yes they have found a way to check for the trifecta tune but if u do flash it back to stock they will not know. And to the guy who said the gm performance divison is being put back together thus the reason for this topic do a search for it

Those couple of sensors and a tune make a HUGE difference.
