Anybody else notice that the brake lights don't work w/ the key off ?
Weird ! I have never seen a vehicle before that the brake circuit was not powered at all times.
Any clue as to what the advantage to that would be ?

They do work , BTW .
Thanks !

My 06 LT only lit up the center light with the key off, the 09 SS doesn't light up at all.
Do tell.
First I've heard about this, have a link or anything?

Or, I guess it could matter if you had a dipthunk do your state safety inspection ( assuming you have one - we do ) and they tried to fail you for brake lights not working.

I believe most GM cars made after 03 are this way, I know my 04 CompG and Tahoe are this way. I think once GM started running all the lights and controls through the BCM and using the RAP circuitry nothing but the entry lights and direct power accessories work without the key being on.

My 2008 Pontiac G5, key out of the ignition, 3rd brake light lit when I step on the brake pedal. My 2010 SS/TC, none of them light up when the key is out of the ignition and I'm stepping on the brake pedal
I don't know about you, but I'd prefer this than my fiancee's 2010 Toyota Corolla S where you can't turn off the automatic lights

My dad was the one to notice it on my car too! Dad's! lmao. We spent a little time tracing wires and then I decided to use my droid to get on here and found this out, lol.
