Anyone else like to make their car pop?

sometime when i start from a stop i'll give it about 3/4 throttle up to about 5k and then let off the gas quickly and clutch in just to hear the exhaust garble and most of the time i can make it backfire and pop. i love making the sound. anyone else do this?

i'm not sure if doing this all the time is bad for the car or just unburnt fuel in exhaust detonating which is harmless to the cat and such.

dunno but it's fun and makes people turn their heads and look haha

a couple of kids the other day said "i like that car" as i drove by so i gave it a little to make them smile.

i find that mine does it if i press the clutch in before i let off the gas and the engine revs up a little bit. not too good for the clutch so i dont do it too often lol.

my 2.2 with the GMPP catback does it too. i actually set a car alarm off once when i was up at penn state yet it doesn't do it much up-shifting but coasting around 3k it does it a lot, i can coast about the last 1/4 mile to my house in 4th gear doing 40 mph and if it's dead quiet INSIDE the house my dad can hear me coming

ya im not making it pop between shifts like a NLS or two step. i mean just give it some gas and then let off and coast and it burbles and pops. sometimes more than others.

My car also backfires when I shift to 2nd normally. It does sound like a gun shot at times. I'm running a cat-less down pipe and muffler delete for anyone that asks.

I miss the 8-cylinders for sound. A 4-banger will just never sound like I want it to.

Mine does some snapping and crackling on every shift to 2nd. Once in a while if the car is still a bit cold it will pop.

I love when I'm say.... searching for a parking spot. Or there's a small town nearby with a 20 mph speed limit. I leave it in gear and coast for a while. Then it gargles and crackles continuously! It's awesome.

I hope your not serious. Have you ever heard a v-8 with a mild exhaust let off at high rpm? or any rpm for that matter.
