This is precisely the reason I did a muffler delete - very intoxicating, I must say. Granted, I can only get it to "gunshot" pop after a cold start-up and the first coast in 3.5k RPM; beyond that, it's just gurgling.

RE: the ricer comment, I - like many others - will have to question that sentiment. Typical fart cans have a much smoother sound on decel.

Whenever I hear pops and gurgles, I know the car means business and is worthy of a double-take.

 

what makes more pop? mufflerless or resonatorless?

 

Straight pipes. Actually just disconnect the exhaust at the downpipe or header for the most popping and spitting. Oh and big fireballs also.

 

I have an sc with a borla xr-1 muffler and it sounds amazing with lots of gurgle and some pop..i'll have to post a vid on here sometime..best 130 i have spent in a while

 

I thought I was the only one who loved doing this, once the car is warmed it really does it, I was crusing through dc wed night late night and the popping and echoing was amazing! I even had girls shouting do it again!

 

i love this about my car, just made 3 gunshots pulling into the complex.

i didnt read the whole thread but i have a catless dp and mpx exhaust with muffler delete and if im cruisin in 3rd or 5th and i see a bridge coming up if i time it right i can make the most ridiculously loud noise haha. i can never really get it to backfire though

I can make it pop in my truck. Lol i love it too... Coasting from right around 3K makes it gargle and pop. 3l pushrod V6 with intake and custom cat-back with a flowmaster! I love the sound my exhaust makes so do stranger's! Lol

I'm catless on an open dump and only pop under WOT 1-2. Hella loud though and I love it. I'm on a resonator and muffler though. Quiet when I'm cruising but loud as hell when I'm on it.

 

I love popping. Every once in awhile between shifts i will blurp the throttle a few quick times to pop loud when i wanna scare oeople. Its so fun haha. I can practically do it on command

 

If you keep hitting the exact same rpm it pops real hard!! rev your car to 4500 and let it go down to 4k and tap it back to 45 and do it a couple times and it pops so much lol and i love passing people and NLS right infront of there window and it pops soooooooo loud with my downpipe hahahaha i laugh everytime

 

The loudest pop I ever did was when I completely stock besides GMS1. I took off from a light and NLS 1st to 2nd and there was a girl walking on the side walk right at my bumper. The pop literally did sound like a gunshot and like it was right next to my head and I only had my window slightly cracked. I was thinking "Wow, that was a loud one." then I look back at the girl that was beside my car and she was full sprint halfway across a parking lot. Probably thought she was getting shot at.

I cracked my downpipe pn my 2.2 right at the downpipe and cat back when I had it. unbolt it to as much as you can before it is completely off

 

I love the pop...dont know how to do it on demand tho...i use the sneeze to scare folks

 

the snap pops and crackles are my fav

if im in 1st and do a normal or slow shift into 2nd it pops

or like OP get into 1st and clutch in to 2nd and pop pop crackle jacks

Mine can pop so loud that I would see people duck behind me as if someone shot a gun. It was awesome lol.
