The only mustang I've even considered buying was a Termi..... till now . Most of us here are about bang for the buck ....and it's hard to deny that the new 5.0 is the most performance for your money right now.

Whoever mentioned a used C6 Z06.... the only Z06's you find for 30K are misprint's lol . It's going to cost you 40-45K to get one thats decent .

Yep saw that vid pretty nasty still has window sticker . Also the 2011/12 Gt 302's are buying the intake manifold for the boss and intake, exhaust, tune and getting another 70 hp.

Just an fyi, not really bone stock. It had slicks lol
EDIT: someone posted the vid aboe

Still not taking away anything from the 5.0's, great car for the price!

Just dont forget c5 Z06's (preferably 02-04!). You can pick them up in the low to mid 20's

I just don't see why you would want even a C5 Z06 over one. Same price-ish, same performance stock, one has 0 miles and one has anywhere from 20k-80k and used.

48-60 months of payments on a car almost 10 years old is just stupid. It only makes sense if your a serious GM nut hugger. I was never a vette guy tho, I personally hate them.

I never said financing, especially for 4-5 years. I would never for a car that old, let alone it would be difficult to get.

But I mean bang for you buck, a C5 Z06 is no slouch, you have to admit that. Yes its older, but its a different vehicle. Both are great cars IMHO, just depends what you want, and what your willing to spend.

Thats strange. The '11 6MT I drove shifted beautifully, and thats coming from a T56 with a direct mount Pro 5.0 shifter and short stick. I'd say its one of the best shifting 6 speeds I've driven - crisp shifting, short throws, very accurate and easy to find gears.

What I wasn't impressed with was the torque. I was with the salesman, so I never took the RPM's over 4,000RPM, which means the car didn't feel fast at all. That engine doesn't wake up until the higher RPM's, it really pulls once you're over 5K.

I'm used to 5.7, 6.0, and 7.0 LS series engines though, which produce great torque (the 7.0 makes MASSIVE torque) and will set you in the seat from idle right to redline. The new 5.0 doesn't have that kind of powerband, but its definitely a top end monster from the videos and dynos I've seen.

With just an intake and tune, guys are over 400WHP, quite impressive.

Get your whole family to switch to american national insurance. It makes it cheaper for everyone. My brother, me, my dad, and my grandmother all have insurance through them. I have full coverage on an 03 liberty which has a high rollover probability and liability only on a 95 cherokee (wheeling vehicle) for 140 a month and thats after totaling one 09 ss. Before that my balt cost me 160 a month for a 21 year old. Full Coverage...

My TC's is less than a 2011 5.0. I've started looking out of curiosity, and it's not by much, but still lower.

Buying the '11 was the best decision I ever made. I didn't trade a cobalt in on it but rather an 09 3v mustang that I procharged and don't regret it one bit.

My same situation, I have a 3v too, but I'm not gonna upgrade it until it's paid off, then it's big motor time and the Wifes getting a new GT500.

A few 1 year leases (25,000km or less) just came back recently at a local dealer. They don't have the 3.73 gearing or the Brembo upgrade, but I'm probably going to go take one for a rip on my week off and see what I think. Considering ordering a 5.0 from factory for the 2013 model year .

I traded the 09 as soon as I broke even with what I owed compared to what I figured I could get out of it on trade. 50% of the motivation was the 5.0, the other 50% was to get out of a GT Base and into a GT Premium.

My Wife drives the Mustang because she likes it and I don't want her driving my LNF, haha. But what she really wants is a new Roush, but I think I talked her out of it. The new GT500 looks to be turbo'd. So it should be nice.

Y spent that much for a car when you can an older car like a 1976 trans am for 1250 and build it up for 17,000. And you can have it upgraded from coil over to fuel injection and turbos. and make 1000 hp out of it or more. and can flip a switch and go from power to fuel economy. Just my opinion. lol i just priced it all a week ago. but i do like the new 5.0s

Thought about it.. still thinking about it.. drove a 5-oh with 3.73s.. was quick n fun off the line, but no faster than my cobalt once moving.. felt a little weaker actually(stronger off the line of course), but I loved the feel and the way I could put it sideways and control it with 1 finger... I'd get into WAY too much trouble with one of those cars if they're that easy n fun to drive.
I may still do it, but I think I'm going to keep my balt n pay it off first and decide later next year. 2012 ZL1, Boss Mustang, Roush Mustang.. hafta wait n see :P

I might look at one in a couple of years after some used ones show up ...... I don't want to spend 40K to get the one I would want ....... let someone else take the new car depreciation hit .

I just saw the 2011 lightning lap and the Z06 with the Z07 package(magnetorheological shocks, Michelin Pilot Sport PS2 tires, and Brembo carbon-ceramic brakes) ran it in 2:53.5.. only 1.7 seconds slower than the ZR-1 which is imo just amazing... too bad its a 2seater sports car that's light on the ass end lol.. still amazing no matter how u look at it tho.

throw a ridiculous lemans wing on the corvette and call it a day. but pricewise you wont find a c6 z06 under 40k that worth buying. IE high mileage or they "live life 1/4 mile at a time"

but the new mustang is a sick beast. i would do a c5 z06 first but only because vettes give me chubs

"Light on the ass end"? What are you talking about? They have 50/50 weight distribution (for all intents and purposes).

It's a very tail happy car. If you were to turn off all of the traction control ****, you'd be in a wall, a corn field, or anything else unless you were an extremely skilled an experienced driver; that is if you actually had the ***** to do that and drive it ***** to the wall.

i just drove 2 c6's near my house under 35k both at dealerships, one 2008 with ls3 6spd base model and a 2006 ls2 6spd with every option, navi and z51 suspension and brake package. 2008 had 11,000mi and the 2006 had 21,000. there are tons of them under 35k. only reason i didnt buy either is because they were both white. i think im leaning towards the vette, the camaro is quick but like the 5.0 mustang isnt like holy **** thats fast neither one of these 3 are even close to that, but the vette is propably the best starting point to make fast because of the powertrain potential and the lighter weight of the car
