LOL! Dealers will tell you anything, and yet people are still stupid enough to buy into the hype.

My dealer knew nothing about a Cobalt Turbo......... So at least yours is caught up on the news......... Im going to take my tax check and put that down towards the SS/tc. Hopefully by then they will be at least taking orders for them.

I thought they said 2nd quarter of 08 is the release. It's already the FY08 1st quarter. That would mean Jan-Mar. I'm guessing late March. ????

err AFAIK it's currently Q4 of 07...
If you trust the statements from the GM press release the car could start appearing at dealers anytime between April 1 and June 30 2008 (Q2)

I went to my dealer as well, we've got something set up. I should have mine in mid-end February.

The reason they are able to get them in 3 months is because GM failed to put in their press conference notes that it will be availabe in FYQ2. The dealership told me that GM FYQ1 starts November 1st. So.. that means Nov/Dec/Jan is Q1, and Feb/Mar/Apr is Q2.

According to the information I read on the screen of the GM pages at the dealership (the order pages they look up when ordering new cars) it says that these cars are available for 'pre-order' as of the 29th of October, (as in, this past Monday). According to the sales manager (the person I'm dealing with for this, as a close friend of mine used to work for him and he hooked me up when I bought my current SS/SC) if they are available for 'pre-order' that usually means a 3-4 month turn around on arrival.

Dealerships are stupid. Awhile back I remember looking at an 06 SS/SC and they pulled it out and brought it up front me and such, and I swear to God, the guy gets out of the car, looks at me and says, "Man, this SS is sure nice. Isn't it turbocharged with like 300 horsepower?"

I will never set foot at Freeway Chevrolet again.

Dumbasses.

Point in case, don't listen to what dealers have to say about anything.

I agree with you completely that salesman are absolute ******* tools. And I'm not going to say that I went in there and they even knew what the **** I was talking about.

I went into the dealership, told them I wanted to trade up, and the guy looked at me like I was stupid and said "Why would you want to go from that to a Sport?" I laughed, and said, no I want what's not available for another 6 months.

He gave me a confused look, and we went to his desk. Sat down and I started to talk about the cars features that were announced on Saturday. He was digging through GM reference pages and backend websites they get their info from. While I'm talking about the car, he interupts me and continues reading off the features list as his eyes grow wider and wider. By the end of it, his jaw had dropped and he said "That's going to be a fast car...."

Anyway, story book aside... after all that, he turned his monitor around, and started showing me all the information they had on the car at this point (it was extremely slim-nill) as it was just announced. What he was able to find was the listing for a "260hp 2.0L Turbocharged Cobalt 2008 Coupe" which had it's order date listed as "October 29th, 2007"

Needless to say, he has asked me to come back at the end of the week, and he's going to do what he can to get information on this car by then. So, I'm going back Friday, and hopefully the dealings will start to be finalized.

Yeah, mid-08 means March/April. Put it this way the 05 SS/SC was "mid-05" It didn't go into production until late Feb/early March, late March I believe is when the first one rolled off a dealer lot.

I thought they said right around $23-24k. I'm guessing it will go for just over what the SS/SC went for, but give it time it'll drop after the inital push. The SS/SCs came out in March of 05, in June of 05 I walked out w/mine for $19,600

My fully loaded 07 was 24,700 So maybe it would be that with no G85 or xm or anything

Yea, it is a mid year release as other said. However if it does come in white I am so sold on the damn thing. that's what I wanted for this one.

Only problem is I hope the seats look better in person, on the pictures they look....i dunno, kinda tacky.
