Im only GmS1. So I don't think too much boost is the issue.
The intake has been installed for the last 7 - 8 months. I took it off to clean the engine bay after the winter. And this is what it looked like when I took the filter off. Mind you the filter is bent with it. And it was making a good seal. Thank god. On the plus side , I don not have any pools of oil in the intake tracked like some people and the turbo looks nice and clean and has minamal play. Fairly tight in fact. But what gives with the intake tube !

It is used ! I just wanna know why it bend so easily. Almost like it bent from me tightening the clamp. It was bent right under the worm gear on the clamp.

I think you answered your own question, didn't you? It's in the vacuum side, not the boost side so it's fairly thin metal. You don't need to kill the thing.
That sucks cannot say I have seen one bent that bad before. I have seen them dented in shipping but nothing like that. A worm clamp should not be able to crush a aluminum tube like that. Send it back to K&N IIRC they have a lifetime warranty.
this is the first one ive seen bent that bad but imnot surprised. the k&n intake uses cheap thin wall aluminum that shitty worm clamps can crush with little to no force on them at all. they need to use something with thicker walls. being such a thin wall aluminum pipe it crushes extremely easy. so if you tighten them a lot dont be surprised to see it completely crushed

Ha ha.... i wish. But in all honesty. I must have over tightened it. But seriously. I dud nit feel any great amount of resistance. Nor did i just go to town on the clamp. I was only using a small flat head screw driver. It bent WAY to easily. That's the point i was trying to make.
its just the very thin aluminum. i believe its like 20 gauge or something like that. very thin stuff. you can bend it by hand and what not. it is what is it just be careful.

Well i bent it back... it was way harder to bend back then it was to originally bent inward. It seems to be pretty good know. And this time i will leave the impact gun in my garage.
