Bluetooth
I use it with the Samsung Glyde. It works great. People don't know that I'm actually using the phone in my car. Like another said, if I am in the garage and my phone is in my house I can still use it in the car, lol.
To those with the LG Dare, they've got firmware version V06 out (Settings and tools > Phone info > SW/HW Version > "[SW Version]: VX970V06" (V06 will have something else there like V03 or V05 if you've got those versions).
They may have V07 out by now, not sure though. Some of the fixes to V06 included a bluetooth fix, so you may be able to get even more improvement out of it now. Just go over to the Verizon store to get the update. It'll take like 30 mins or so. Don't know why they haven't activated the over-the-air software updates yet though.

IMO if it works now i wouldnt get the update. as you can tell from this thread there will always be people with some sort of combo that doesnt work or works half ass. so if you dont have issues leave it alone because it would suck if you went to fix it and it got worse
example i have a pc6800 smartphone and my backlight for the keyboard went out 9 months ago. i took it in and had it swapped under warranty bc i thought it was sorta ghetto but for the most part i knew the keys and didn't "need" it. new phone had windows 6 instead of 5 and really was much better IMO. a few months later thou my phone now turns on and off at will and often completely freezes. had i known i would have kept my old phone and been much happier.
moral of the story with electronics if it works leave it because the chance you make it worse is often not worth whatever bs comes in the "upgrade"

The cord would make me crazy too. 120 GB seriously wouldn't be enough? You must have a dumperload of music. I have just over 30GB of music and thats over 9000 files. Granted, even though I have a switch program to convert to 320kbs, most of my music is at 128kps. Still 120GB of music is a ton! I use a 32GB flash drive and it works very well. I keep the folders sorted alphabetically so it's easy to find what your looking for.
My brother's like that. When he was living in base housing, everyone used to "share" everyone else's MP3's. He's got over 1TB of music....prolly every song ever recorded, several times over, lol.
Anyway, the BT in my car works great with my iPhone 3G. Of course, I drive an '08 and had an aftermarket (Parrot) setup installed. I don't have the nifty steering wheel controls, but I think it makes up for it in sound quality.

Weird
I only have 140GB it's not that much.
My music collection is about 40gb. Which is about 700ish albums + maybe 1000 singles. I'm too lazy to see how many files total. I just keep that 8gb USB in the stereo or use the iPhone and I'm good to go for weeks. Some of those are old MP3 rips and the bitrate is pretty low (128).
I stare at that 40gb and struggle to decide what I should listen to sometimes, so couldnt imagine 100+!

ive had my hard drive in my car since january without any problems to it. just have the get a decent enclosure for it and youll be fine. its not like your running a operating system with it so vibrations and bumps and bangs wont really effect much.
i work on laptop hardware for a living, so i got a pretty good idea of what works and not.
as for the cable i have it shortened up enough that it doesnt get in the way. and when i want to unplug it i can just put it back in the dash or i can tuck it down around the back part above the cup holders.
