No I dont think so. He was originally going to supply a line but now doesnt. You have to modify the ones you have. Hopefully you can get a stud on there from the stocker.

What's the torque? If it's high, maybe I should get a new set just to make sure, and new nuts, too.

Thanks imbroke! Will scavenge a stud off the stocker.

Hey cubaniche, were there any unusual tools needed?

No no special tools needed other than your normal socket set and an impact would be helpful.

DO NOT adjust the WG rod length! (Like I did) Leave it at the end like Bryan sends it to you. The car will hate you for messing with it. I adjusted it back to the way it was from BNR and now all is well. Waiting on a revised tune but, 70% throttle without a tune and 15psi I hit 31lbs MAF and 26VE

Yeah, like Cubaniche said, the 2860 turbo has a slightly longer BNR CHRA, so it changes where the wastegate needs to connect to the actuator rod. A stock-like nut position therefore becomes a more "choked up" position (to use a baseball term) than it would normally be.

He's got the nuts right on the end of that thing as it stands now. I wonder if an even longer actuator rod would do us some good.

[QUOTE=cubaniche;5563940]Well, finally got her on. The one I received was missing one of the studs that the elbow flange bolts on to and when I tried to put one of the ones from the stocker it wouldnt screw in...even with an impact. It was a pain and I didnt want to try tapping steel so I decided to go buy a nut and bolt and be done with it. It all worked out in the end. It was a learning experience for sure because those lines do not line up and it took some creative routing and bending to get it to work. Just waiting for BYT to send me a driveable tune cause shes knocking like crazy right now. I guess the E blend and different turbo are too many variables for the ECU. Here a re a few pics:

EDIT: The knock was caused by my fiddling with the WG rod trying to make it like stock. Bad idea. Basically it was keeping the WG open ALL the time.

Have you got that thing tuned and running right yet? How's it running?

Yeah, that's what happened. Wastegate wouldn't close. Made for very little boost and a hot turbo.

Still in the early tuning phase. Getting airload down first. Still conservative right now until the airloads are stabilized. BYT's been working it with him. I believe his next revision will have him at 22-23psi now.

Cubaniche's on an E-blend too, so that makes this even more interesting.

As a side note, the turbo sounds different than the K04, for those wondering.

Probably doesn't have quite the same angelic sound that a real GT turbo has though There's nothing like listening to a real dual BB turbo spin up and slowly spin down. It's like a voice from heaven

So, does E blend make much difference when combined with 91 than just with 93 octane alone.

Yeah were in the early phases still of tuning but shes running well. Still nailing down airload. Once thats stable we will start working on power.

This turbo may not have the same 'angelic' sound as a true GT28 but it is sure loud and spools down slower than the k04. It makes a much longer BPV release sound than stock

You can blend 1:1 with 87 if you want. It still lets you run more advance with the slower burn.

You get kinda the same cooling effect during the burn so you are able to run more timing, adding power. Meth is a whole kit that needs a reservoir, a controller, lines and having to tap a nozzle into the cold side of the CPs.
The blend is simply finding a station that offers E-85 and then gasing up with equal amounts of 93 and E Atleast thats the 50/50 blend. then there are others running a blend that has more E than unleaded. Both need to be tuned for.

No, not me....yet. Perhaps FF_Ace. Once this thing isn't my DD anymore I may consider it though.

so when is the dyno or track day going to be? I would personally like to see a 1/4 mile MPH over any dyno sheet.
