Bonestock Dyno vs Stage 1 Dyno with pics and vids

The bone stock dyno apparently didn't have torque sensors hooked up right so I didn't get a reading on stock torque. Crappy, I know. Should I use 237 as my stock torque, or +/- some ft-lbs for a more accurate baseline?

Bone stock (same run, different graphs. 3rd gear):

mph graph

rpm graph

Stage 1:

So... From 237whp to 255/257whp. And ??ft-lbs to 289ft-lbs. That is with NO hardware modifications beyond the sensors that came with the GM Stage 1 Tune.

I know the pics came out kinda big. Let me know if I should post anything else up. Sorry about not having a stock torque reading, first time to dyno and I didn't realize they had messed up until after the car was unstrapped and I getting my print off. I also don't know why the RPMs are so off on that second graph.

Good stuff man.

Seems like a stingy dyno, you only gained 18WHP that doesn't seem quite right.

I'm putting less and less stock in dynos. There are just so many different factors and variables.

Same dyno for all runs. Very close on humidity (9-12%) excluding the one run in 71% humidity, but probably around 20 degrees cooler during the Stage 1 runs.

The quoted additional power for Stage 1 was 20hp and 60ft-lbs at the crank, so for me to gain 18hp and 40-50lb-ft at the wheels seems believable. Better than I could've hoped for. Plus the cars that I've raced locally have allowed me to see what a difference Stage 1 makes.

I purchased Stage 1 for the sensors and peace of mind if I need to go into the dealer for work, not to compete with Trifecta numbers (not that anybody with a Trifecta tune has had problems yet with having work done). Trifecta is on my future mod list, and then I'll compare those numbers to Stage 1 and Stock numbers, all on the same dyno.

Oh and if anybody knows Vince, ask him to check his PMs please. I sent him a message over a week ago.

Those curves suggest that its getting choked out up top. Next mod=catless down pipe. Redyno and see how those change. Hot side charge pipe will help a little as well

That doesnt make sense in all honesty...being HP is caluated by knowing the torque of the engine. Are you sure thats your not torque line instead of the HP line? All a dyno measures is torque and rpm, then it figures out the HP using the formula below

HP=torque*rpm/5252

Knowing this I do not understand how a dyno could pick up HP but NOT pick up torque.

Other then that looks like a completely stock setup.

It's obviously not going to put down anywhere near trifecta levels but it should of put down 265-280WHP IMO

I do understand that HP is calculated from torque, but I know when they went to apply ft-lbs to the graph, it had readings of 190, 9, and 140 (3 separate runs). We just assumed that was some kind of mistake. It looks more like a HP line in my stock graph to me. I could be wrong.

That would be 28-43whp increase over my stock whp figure, and I don't think the Stage 1 is THAT underrated. For a claimed 280hp and 320ft-lbs at the crank, I should be putting down 238-240whp and 272-275ft-lbs at the wheels. I'm putting down 15-17whp and 14-17lb-ft more than those calculated numbers (using a 15% drivetrain loss and GM's claim for Stage 1's power).

I was hoping for 250whp and 270ft-lbs and I beat that!
