I've been as low as 12 and change and as high as 18.

I've heard of a guy up north getting as little as 10.

It has to do with density altitude, which is how easily your engine "breathes":

Low altitude (high pressure), low temperature (denser air), and low humidity (less water in the air taking up space) all contribute to your engine "breathing" easier and therefore making more power on its own without the need for the turbo. The ECU will notice this and will lower the target boost pressure from the turbo.

Higher altitude, high temperature, and high humidity will all have the opposite effect and you'll notice more boost.

Here's a post I made a while back if you're interested in learning more.

I live at over 5k feet. I drive between that and over 7k feet. So, pretty high altitude. I've seen my boost gauge hit about 20psi. As they said, the higher the altitude the less air. I think you lose like 5% power for every 3k feet you go up, etc. Which is why the ECU will have the turbo push more or less air.

My car now has 1k miles on it and boosts around 15 most of the time when I'm "going", however in 3rd and 4th gears it'll spike almost to 18.. mind you I haven't watched the boost gauge for the past 400-500 miles either lol but that's what it was doing. I'll check it out tomorrow when I'm out and about to be sure and update if there's any change. Elevation here is 2200 feet as well btw.

Talking I finally looked on my Wendy's run !

NLS for the MFW !

The gauge held steady at 15 psi - schweet !

I am in Houston - about 87 degrees w/ 57% humidity today. I turned 666 miles on the way back ...

Your boost is limited by the ECU based on elevation, barometric pressure and the HP/TQ numbers it calculates you are putting down. The 15PSI you're reading indicates that's all that's required for the ECU to calculate maximum configured power at which point it begins relieving boost.

Around here I'm the same as swazzees (since we're literally 40 minutes from eachother) and I've never seen it higher than that regardless of the weather .

I make 7-13psi with my leaking boost modification. It rocks, I recommend it.
