Bought car with motor in trunk can it be powered up to check mileage
Bought a 08 ss with motor removed and in trunk. This was bought for swapping the motor and a few other things from my smashed 08 ss…. That being said im wondering since I’m not the first person to buy this car in this state of disrepair if I am able to install a battery and confirm the mileage? or does it need to be put together first? I don’t want to cause any more problems…. Thanks guys!

Well mileage is stored in the BCM on these. I guessing if engine is out, the fuse box is out? If not you might be able to put battery in and see it.
