BOV not hooked up

I will be getting a bolt on turbo soon, either Hahn or BNR. I want to put back on my intercooler piping but it would have the BOV installed on it.

I won't be installing the turbo for a couple months.

If I don't hook up the BOV am I good? I would assume the pipe is sealed since the vac line isn't hooked up and would not open the BOV.

Thanks for the help.

I have the stock pipe on the car today.

I have an upper charge pipe with a BOV attached.

I want to install the upper charge pipe.

If I do not connect the vac line to the BOV, will I have a leak? I don't think so, but would like it if someone could confirm for me.

I want to continue to use the KO4 turbo and factory BPV until i get the new turbo installed. However I want to have the upper charge pipe installed now, but it has the BOV already on it.

Thanks.

Depends on the bov, majority of them will open if they're a push type style, pull type like hks/synapse shouldn't open.

actually, the synapse one will open up if its not hooked up. when i tried to do a boost leak test, every time id get it up to like 5 psi my bov would "blow off" and id have to restart. if i hooked up the bov, then it wouldnt leak or open at all.

op, your best bet, buy a block off plate from treadstone, its like 35 bucks or so, hook up your bov.

when you switch turbos you can sell the block off plate for basically the same price you bought it for. you might lose like 5 bucks on it tops.

The BOV is a HKS if that makes any difference.

just leave the stock piping on and don't worry about having issues. Seems simple to me.

You can run the bov to a boost source on the charge piping if you have one and don't want to run it. Otherwise yeah, either keep stock piping or use a block off plate. I am selling my Hahn piping soon since I bought the zzp piping and it will be cheap as the fitment is very poor. Maybe $50 plus shipping for both upper and lower pipes together.

Would it hurt to just tee into the line that goes to the BPV and run it to the BOV as well.

Would that alleviate the issue?

Idk, then he would have two points of boost relief under vacuum. Prob not the best idea.
