Bpv sticking. Time to replace

I've been constantly getting p2261 sticking bypass valve m.i.l.. I've taken the b.p.v. apart many times with no sign of deterioration. Basically if I give it too much throttle in first gear I'll have a super delay in boost then it will suddenly all come back like nothing happened. This only happens like a couple times a week but seems to be getting more prevalent. I'm going to replace it. My question is should I go forge or Kompact? I like the Kompact look better but was wondering about quality. It says it's designed after a borg Warner efr & is a direct fit for my cobalt ss08. Gonna pull the trigger on one & would like opinions on the matter. T. I. A.

I have the forge BPV. Have had it for 7 years now. Also turbosmart makes one as well.

Right on man. Thanks for chiming in. Sounds like the forge is reliable. That's what I'm trying to figure out.

Synapse universal synchronic diverter valve

I'm interested in running a synapse universal synchronic diverter valve but I am not sure if it fits. The universal one says it fits td04 turbo. Does the k04 & td04 have the same bpv setup. By the pictures I've seen it looks like the same 3 bolt pattern. Any one know if this Wil fit?

I ended up buying a Go Fast Bits Diverter valve +. It's a direct fit for Borg Warner turbos with no servicing. Its design is pretty sick. It promotes 30% faster spool. It has a bolt to adjust sensitivity. I'm not trying to sell the product. I'm just posting to say there's newer options out there. Check out there web site. I got it off ebay for $135. I've seen amazon sell them for$129. I picked up this info on an Audi forum searching for a service free diverter valve other than oem. Says it holds up to 60 psi. You don't have to swap springs either.

Go fast bits dv+ t9354. I'll post updates later down the road & let you know how it's holding up. I love the sound. It's got a peeeeewww sound when it releases. Was way more pronounced than stock but not a high pitch. I guess I can try and figure out how to post what it sounds like. I'm a 08 ss stock box, zzp intake tube on zzp canned tune

Ok I'm back with the update on the go fast bits diverter valve. This valve performed amazing besides the fact that it constantly through a code & put you in 5 lbs boost mode so basically don't buy it. The valve works great but our pcm thinks it's sticking when it's not. I got fed up with having to reset the m.i.l. & was trying to clear codes to pass smog. I ended up buying a stock bpv. I learned being innovative costs money

Did you try adjusting the spring preload?

Yes I tried that for weeks. I adjusted it from all the way closed to about all the way open. Adjusting the spring preload got rid of the turbo surge under higher boost. But I could never shake the p2261. I'm thinking it's just the way our computer reads it. So basically this bpv is designed to never leak. There are push or pull designs for bypass valves. This one does both. The instructions say you don't even need the spring ( very stiff spring). I even swapped out spring for stock spring which lightened up the sensitivity. I lubed as well with all sorts of grade lubricants. It would always burn all lube really fast so ended up using valvoline synthetic grease with Molly . Good for °550 f. I don't know man. I really wish it worked because throttle response with it is fantastic! It dumps boost depending on throttle position.. So if you're modulating the pedal in a corner it will only dump a lil boost so when you get back on it you skip most of the pressure drop back into boost. That is why I think the computer gets confused. It says maintenance free but guys on Audi forum said lube was the fix. It seems to be a hated or loved product on the Audi forums. Sometimes though the bpv fault felt purely mechanical. I noticed that when it was really hot & I was pulling alot of weight( plumbing tools=100 pounds brother =250) the bpv would get stuck open in first gear. So I would dump all boost & almost stall. Then I would give it full throttle & it would start to work again full boost. No code no limp mode. Only fix I've found was too replace it. I wonder if it can be adjusted in the tune. I've noticed I would tend to over boost with this valve. My stock gauge would say like 28-29 lbs & then the computer would dump everything. Boost spiking & spooling faster because of less pressure drop. I do need a real tune . Running zzp canned tune.
Ltft=-7. Gonna cop some opels & maybe zzp fuel pump upgrade & run e-47. I got new 4.05 trans going in with gmpp clutch kit. Can't wait until black friday deals

I'll keep tweaking it to see if I can get it to work. I just passed smog so not worried about drive cycle procedures. I'll keep you posted
