brake bite

I'm on stock rotor and pads and i was wondering at what pedal position was everyone getting bite. Mine feel like 3/4 to 1/2 before you feel any significant bite. Before that the kinda just feel like being eased into it. Is this normal?

What car do you have? Have you bled them recently, or ever? How is the pad wear? Most brakes are self-adjusting so the pedal travel doesn't change as things wear unless there's something wrong like air in the system.

Sorry, just saw where this is posted. I'd bleed them, and take a look at the pads and rotors. You shouldn't have to push the pedal that far before you feel them stopping.

The best thing to do is check your thickness of pads and rotors see if they are still in specs if not replace. Bleeding the system wouldnt be a bad idea but it shouldn't have air in the system unless you have a leak somewhere
