Smile Buy '08 now or wait for '09 SS

I am looking to buy a cobalt SS in the near future. I would like to buy my car as soon as possible, but I am patient enough to wait for the '09 if it is a much better vehicle than the '08 SS. Please leave me your opinion on what I should do.... Wait for the '09 to come out in the fall or buy an '08 now. Also, please tell me which has the better engine? stereo system? mpg? will they cost the same? tires and rims? ETC. Thank you for your time and I look forward to reading your posts.

Performance and appearance wise, they will be the same. Although there will probably be a few bugs worked out. The 2009 SS/T will also have a few new interior features though: Bluetooth Capabilities and a Reconfigurable Performance Display.

It hasn't been offically announced, but there is a very strong possibility for optional metallic black wheels.

Yea I am waiting for the 09. Partially because I want to see the sedan and take it for a spin to see how it feels compared to my coupe ss/sc.

Depends on the region but I would say that's correct. My dealer here in Las Vegas, NV told me to expect seeing them in the middle of September.

The 09 HHR SS went up $800+ from 08MY.

09 Cobalt SS pricing has not been released, but it will almost certainly go up.

My cobalt is for sale. I bought a GMC Syclone for my project/drag car. I have a beater and I don't really need the payments of my cobalt. I only drive the cobalt on very nice days. She is in the garage right now, its a 2006 SS supercharged with all of the GM performance upgrades and I also got ride of the stock clutch/flywheel. We all know why. I put in the best money can buy. Exedy clutch and flywheel. The car only has 9k miles on it and still smells new. You would be able to pick mine of for fraction of the price of a brand new 08 or 09. Not to mention I have a extended bumper to bumper transferable warnity. 75k miles or 5 years. That means it still has 3 years of warnity or 66k.

Let the whole SS/TC thing calm down for a bit. Plus, everytime you buy a car in it's first year of production, they always add some kind of badass feature/option the next year it seems, lol.

IMO as of now i would just get the 08. The possibility of black wheels and optional bluetooth, to me, doesnt justify waiting for the 09 model.

might as well wait, it's not so easy to get the 08's anyway.

Bluetooth is standard in 09. The new optional equipment is the RPD and the stereo with USB port.

Plus different colors.
