Buying help
hey whats up guys after months of debating of what kinda car to get the time has come. i got a raise at work and i think i will attempt to get the new ss for my dd. just want some help on what insurance is like for this car. also what type of price would i be looking at for the car
Well nobody can tell you your insurance rate but your company.
For someone like me though, I looked around at a TON of cars, got quotes on most of them, and it seems it didn't matter what I bought, the rates were all pretty much the same. I would save a minuscule amount by getting a 4 door, and the fact the car was a sport compact compared to a compact only changed the rate by like 100 or 200 a year, not a big deal.
I don't think you'll see a huge difference than any other car that's brand new, a couple hundred bucks at the most.
Just be glad you're not looking at a Civic Si, that was the only car that was significantly more expensive than the others for insurance...it's considered "high risk"...must be the theft, or the fact the Cobalt and MPS3 are underrated by the insurance companies?

There are a ton of TC's on eBay and around here for really good prices.
If you're trying to use the little GM car hunter thing on Chevy.com.. I've never had that work correctly.
Insurance on my SS/SC and 2.4 are about the same, and slightly less than the Speed3. I'd imaging SS/TC insurance would be about the same as the SS/SC.
Just shop around on that (as others have said.)'
Oh, and PS - unless your credit has been dicked recently, you should have no problem there. My wife and I had no problems the Speed3 and got the best rate we've had. A lot of dealers are (or were a couple of weeks ago) running 0% financing as well. Now is a good time to borrow if you have a steady job and weren't directly fucked over in the crunch.
