Cadillac ATS 2.0T Problems?

Just lurking on the ATS forum and came across this. Wow, blown engines left and right what seems to be from hydrolocking?

There will always be a small sample size new vehicles with problems. I have a 2013 2.0T ATS with 30K miles and have had 0 problems with it so far. Amazing cars for sure!

Wow, another lousy PCV system problem. Glad ours is just leading to oil build-up on the intake valves.

Yep, the 2.0 in the ATS has worse issue than ours, and its supposed to be the new and improved LNF the.. LTG oooo well it still blows, still gets cocked up with oil.

The ATS is a great car but it has it's issues that Cadillac refuses to address, GM is too busy stroking the overpriced V6 **** to give two ***** about the 2.0, they've known about the coking issues since the LNF and still nothing.

Does it have those rods that are made in that new way that I forget what it's called ? Those seem to suck bad, stick with forged .

The gunk in the intercooler seems like a ton.

Their intake setup does seem to pull in a lot of water but maybe it has a snorkel like ours and is picking up more water.

Is the V6 DI as well? If so, will it not still have the coking issues? I've been looking for a new car for my wife and it's getting harder and harder to find a car without the DI engine.

Meh. Same motors almost, same **** kills them. Knock. One guy filled with 87 octane, he admits to it right in his description. The tune on these cars is probably a tad more aggressive than a stock LNF file - given the cars have higher hp from the factory. The pistons are hypereutectic. They'll go easy with any sort of detonation that is repeated. I've never been a fan of the stock tunes to be honest, including the gm stage 1 lnf tune. Too lean at WOT, near stoich. These are probably the same. They do it for emissions purposes/mpg goals.

As for gumming up, yeah well, they are DI, they gum up. You need to clean the valves every 50k. Just the way it is. Alot of these people don't have the understanding.

And we all know most dealerships have no ******* clue.
