car accident when i fell asleep...
They put my car on a large rack thingy and it was suppose to pull the frame straight? Is that what the frame straightener is? its been almost 10 years since I seen one. Anyways, my car "dog legged" for ever afterwards and I went through tires every 6,000 miles. I didnt drive too much back then so I thought in normal in my Knaiveness that I was changing tires every year and a half to two years. lol.
I sure hope that cobalt is totalled. It will make you hate it if you have to drive it and you hear all these new noises plus road noise becomes louder and you go through tires faster. Get an 09 wrx
or a 07 350z.Trying to get the GF to consider getting a new car. and those are two I put on her list.
my 06 ss sedan was in accident it was $14,750 in repairs, I was pissed it wasnt total'd but the car drove awesome and I checked the alignment 3 times over the next year of owning it and it never needed an alignment! but I traded it in for my 09 ss/tc sedan as my old one didnt deserve the ss badge... still loved that car though....
Mine has been in 5 not at fault accidents. Most serious was $6500ish last year in which my ex-friend hit a parked car while texting and driving with me not in the car. Car still drives perfect. But all but the last one of the accidents were minor and just required a bumper/quarter panel replacement.
So it was a 70yr old lady driving a 2011 Rav4. She was doing well over the speed limit to which her airbag deployed. My wife woke up and saw the suv sideways in the road and then went back to sleep, i never woke up to the crash. A lot of sirens and lights show up and i went down to see what happened. Her car is totalled and my car got pushed about 10 feet. The front bumper acted like a shovel and picked up dirt while being moved, the Synapse Turbo intercooler got slanted back on the bottom. A boost leak is definite. The gas tank is leaking, the torsion beam is bent, rear passenger tire is flat, the passenger side rear suspension is all tweaked. No damage to glass though. So far the dealership has told me that at just looking at it, its hard to tell if the car is totalled due to "still being worth so much". Anyways heres a pic:

I'll put my title on the Cobalt that the frame is bent on that car. I had a less sever impact on my previous cobalt ss/tc and the frame was bent.
Don't ever let the insurance adjuster have the final say in the quote. The body shop will find more things to repair, guaranteed. Mine did.
Also, if the car somehow isn't totaled, I would also make a claim for the diminished value of the car due to it now having an accident reported on it. You file this through the woman's insurance carrier who she belongs to.

i smell a part out coming. The frame looks bent, cobalts dont hold value. that could very well be totaled

so far one of my sub boxes is done, the other one looks good though. the antenna looks alright, the front bumper is done for, for sure. Theres a chance the intercooler is alright. Charge pipes look good. Catless downpipe should be good along with my varex muffler. TWM STS is good. Water meth pump is good. Probably going to sell my HPT but it has no more credits. I have the front transmission mount from ZZP, might be able to get that off. Dejon intake with 1.25" recirc fitting, the required tubing and Synapse BOV are all good and will be sold with charge pipes and Hahn block off valve so to be a complete setup. That seems to be it. Parts will be relatively cheap to move them out fast. Parts go to locals and friends first. I don't have concrete word that my car is totalled however, my wife contacted the drivers insurance and Denooyer recommends totaling it and now the insurance company is going to verify it. PM me with prices and if there is anything else i could easily and plausibly pull off for you.
I'll buy the whole engine or whole car, dead serious, if you get it totaled out, find out what the buy back is for the car and I'll come get it plus a couple hundred for YOU for a finder's fee, I need parts for next season. If the car is mangled, it's cool I'll just cut up another cobalt with front end damage and stitch the whole thing back together.
